Below pics are of Nasrid palace inside Alhambra. The access to Nasrid palace is controlled, at a time only 50 people are allowed to go inside. So there are long queues during the peak time.

Sacromonte, on the opposite side of Alhambra palace. Famous for gypsies and Flamenco bars, the place comes alive in the evening to enjoy drink and have tapas. As I don’t drink and cannot enjoy tapas (may contain bacon) so I visited in the afternoon in scorching sun. It was siesta time there and I found all places closed and streets empty, although found some other humans strolling like me It was great experience! You can take buses from the city center. The ticket is about 1.60 euro (if I remember correctly).
The old Albaicin area of Granada where arabs used to live (they still live there). Narrow and steep streets that you can explore. Some shops selling handicrafts and some places to enjoy tapas and drinks. Also you can see Granda city from this small hill.
These used to be the quarters of the guards, who protected the palace.
Quite possible, may be some restoration is done as well.
Some have, some don’t. Like some are made of vegetable or fish or chicken. There are lots of varieties. The idea is that you buy a drink and get tapas free as snack with the drink. I did not try but it is quite possible they don’t offer tapas with the Coke

That makes me sad. =(
Any other etiquette or quirks of the place I should know about so I don't make a faux paus or stick out like a sore thumb?

we had no problem at the tapas bars ordering just soft drinks lol
lol Essie!!! We wandered into a bar right next to our hotel and I asked the guy for a cocktail with no alcohol..he mixed juice with club soda for us and asked if we wanted to snack on anything…between my high school/college level Spanish and his English we had a grand old time!! We tipped extreme well.
Ekumunng is right, the people in Spain are so incredible warm and nice and helpful. It’s a beautiful country with beautiful people.
You can find tapas cafés too, that aren’t just bars.

Served with the thickest chocolate you can imagine!!!
