Trip to Canada

Actually Toronto …

I wanna fly into one of the nearby cities of US and then drive into Canada. No specific reasons, other than saving some cost & maybe get to do some sight seeing.

Looked into Buffalo and the airfare is about the same as flying into Canada, give or take a little. So, that will be my last choice.

What other US cities are about 4-5 hour driving distance from Toronto?

Detroit.

Also, www.mapquest.com

detroit :jhanda:

come to windsor too

we’ll have a meet jus for u

Ok, Detriot is one ... which other? Maybe Cleveland?

Ahmadji Bhaijan, don’t go via Cleveland, there are lots of Indians there.

^^ and they are not happy about losing their land :)

Don’t you dare come to Toronto.

:rotfl: ignore hayaa.. by all means, come over via cleveland, detroit, rochester, buffalo would’ve been preference but up to u..

Ok, here is another question/concern. Which car rental company would let me drive into Canada? Usually their deals are for anywhere in the US. Any recommendations?

hayaa, don't worry, with you health you will be long gone before I make it across the border. :-P

try avis...national...thriftys...budget...all of 'em should allow u to take the car in canada...

Another option is to take Amtrak from Buffalo etc into Toronto. When the train crosses the thin bridge – its as if its floating in air above Lake Erie water gushing into Lake Ontario. You may rent a car in Toronto and return it in Niagara falls again. Crossing the border on pedestrian bridge is also an awesome feeling.

I think Syracuse, NY is another option. Its about 3-5 hrs drive from the border. I have driven from NYC to Toronto few years back and route and sight seeing was awesome. I think it was a 10 hr drive.
