Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Bano qudsia's long play surkh batti (based on mirat-ul-uroos saani) was also nice, good dramatization of it.....

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Bano Qudsia wrote TV script of this story herself. Saba Hameed did wonderful acting in that. Some shades of her first hit ‘Mama Seemi’ were also there in this role.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Does anyone know anything about Bee Gul the writer of Talkhiyan based on "The god of small things"? I can't seem to unearth any biographical notes or trivia on someone who adapted one of the most complex and riveting literary works of the 20th century to the screen and surely deserves more recognition and accolades for it.

Azra babar: for zaib-un-nisa, telefilms faraar, putli ghar,

Mansoor mani and mehreen jabbar did excellent dramatization of khadija mastoor's short story ab tum ja saktey ho, khalida riyasat, humanyun saeed, sania saeed did fantastic job especially khalida riyasat. Mansoor mani also did dramatization of ismat chughtai's short story nivala starring hafeez fatima, mumtaz kanwal etc.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Azra Babar also wrote 'Dhoop main sawan' directed by Mehreen Jabbar.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

yes... i have watched it on geo.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Another good writer is Zakia Akbar having serials like Kashish, Uljhan, Kath-putli (all directed by Kazim Pasha) and Saye (Directed by Shahzad Khalil) on her credit.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

There was a time when Zafar Mairaj was coming with impressive scripts like Safar, Ijaazat (PTV). His series 'Chadar aur Chaar Dewari', 'Maa aur Mamta' had some good plays, but all his works with Zeba Bakhtiyar like Masuri, Muqadas, Mulaqaat, Mehmaan don't inspire much. His scripts still have originality and some thought, but he lost some where while in between his serials.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Iqbal Hasan Khan is another under-rated writer who wrote many good serials under direction of Tariq mairaj. Neend, Achanak, Aadhi Dhoop, Aatish, Tinkay, Cousins and many more

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

He is definitely a good writer.....

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Amar Jaleel has written some different scripts, but always complained that his scripts were edited a lot to lost the meaning. Inspite of all this he came up with serials like 'Bhanwar', 'Sarang', 'Zeest', "Mere Dil Mere Musafir' from National media. He was able to convey his thoughts more openly in his Sindhi scripts.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

A.hameed deserves many accolades for ainak wala jin, his ambar maria was also dramatized.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

yes writing for children and getting popularity is not easy task. A Hameed also wrote 'Alif Leela', 'Anokha Safar' for children.

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

yes remember both and also remember fareeha pervaiz in anokha safar:hehe:

Re: Tribute to Pakistani Drama Writers

Didn’t see any work of Khalida Hussain, who wrote script of ‘Aashob’ starring (Laila Zuberi, Mehmood Aslam, Asif Seemab, Sehrish Khan, Aliya Imam). Is she the same short story writer who has recently written a novel ‘Kaghazi Ghaat’:
