Re: Tribute to fathers …

My father never made any dish , he used to make chai in the morning , but my older brother used to make best chicken karahi and goat chops .

Re: Tribute to fathers …

He used to make this dessert thingy out of rice krispies and brown sugar. Yummm

Re: Tribute to fathers …

my dad was the master of Sunday morning breakfasts–fried eggs, sunnyside up or overeasy, toast, pan fried potatoes, grilled onions…mm! He can even flip an egg by throwing the pan in the air–ok i know that sounds odd but i mean he just didnt/doesn’t turn it without a spatula.

he also “invented” the egg sandwich which was omelette, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo… I never knew that mayo wasn’t part of egg sandwich until a non-desi friend of mine stayed with me a few weeks and she had that sandwich for breakfast…she was shocked that we put mayo

of course these things are long gone now, but it was fun while it lasted

Re: Tribute to fathers …

Sara, you guys actually put the mayo in the egg and cooked it? did it not taste wierd?

My friends dad , makes the best paya’s ever ( paws , as i call them ) … believe you me , he gets requests from his family friends to make that special dish almost one a month :cb:

Re: Tribute to fathers …

no no, mayo on the bread and then the (cooked) egg!

Re: Tribute to fathers …

Re: Tribute to fathers …

My dad’s a much better cook than my mum, he makes everything!
Erm favourites would be shola and shepherds pie and salmon and bread pudding and a million other things which I’ll probably remember afterwards <3

My dad makes the tastiest Salan, and he can make some mean maduros (fried sweet plantains). =)

Re: Tribute to fathers …

My dad was the breakfast maker like Sara’s dad.

And he also invented our version of the egg sandwich…only we used egg and apricot jelly.
