Australia, Pakistan and South Africa to play in Abu Dhabi

South Africa, Australia and Pakistan will play in a triangular mini-tournament at Abu Dhabi in September as preparation for the Champions Trophy to be played in India the following month.
The tournament, which will have the teams play one match against each other, will fall into South Africa’s schedule just after two one-day matches against Zimbabwe at home.
Mickey Arthur, the South Africa coach, is happy that his team will have the additional practice and he hopes that it will be an opportunity for injured players - Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis and Justin Kemp - to get back into action.
“We faced having a month of inactivity after the Sri Lanka tour, ahead of the Champions Trophy,” Arthur told South African website iol.co.za. “Now we’ll have just two weeks rest after Sri Lanka, and the benefit of games in sub-continent conditions in Abu Dhabi (UAE) leading into the Champions Trophy.”
While Smith injured his ankle and is out for 12 weeks, Kallis underwent surgery on his elbow that has been troubling him since last November and Kemp is recovering from an operation on a joint between his collar-bone and shoulder. But they are all expected to recover in time for the tournament.

So we were getting a months break between the English tour and Champions Trophy but guess what? not anymore :slight_smile:

^^ lol I was just going to post that....

anyway this is too much cricket on the other hand these are the 3 best teams in ODI cricket so should be a good one.

It should have been 2 games each and then FINAL but the best part is that Australia is involved in this series so we will get to watch all games LIVE in Australia :D

More round of tamasha matches. Surely we will field our full-strength squad, including every player who is now sitting on the injured list? No fun in watching these round-the-year tamashas without their inclusion, even though half the camp gets sidelined before the start of important series.

Why people concern South Africa to be 2nd best team in the world today. I know in 1999-2000 South Africa was the 2nd best, but not anymore.

Its mainly because of fact that they chased down Australia's world record score of 430+ earlier this year. Do you know that? :D

^ More importantly they have maintained number 2 ranking in ICC ODI table for almost a year now :D
