Trend of asking for gifts

So this trend was started by Nadia Khan when she did her morning show. She would give one of her dresses she would be wearing to some caller or whoever sent most messages. Then people started calling her and ASKING her to give them her dress. The trend then was picked up by almost all “entertainment” morning shows and talk shows.

Now this morning we had Geo Sehri Transmission on. The segment is where Amir Liaqut asks a question and gives the gift to whoever gives the correct answer. Nothing wrong with this concept but then one lady gave a correct answer, I don’t know what the gift was but she said “mujey phone de den”?? Then people started running down shoving each other trying to grab whatever was in AL’s hands. Then I saw one kid who came to him asking for something.

I find it really disturbing. People get this begging tone on when asking something from a host. It doesn’t even seem like those people are poor. They seem well off. How can they tolerate a host ridiculing them, just to get a phone, a microwave or whatever it is they are giving. What are your thoughts guys?

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

as for me i have seen many sehri or ramzaan transmissions featuring prizes and God knows what in give a ways… my question is why start this practice in ramzaan why not in any other normal months :konfused:

also all these remind me of Tariq Aziz show :nahi: where u don’t beg to take stuff but u intend to earn it

i seriously don’t like what is being on aired nowadays with respect to ask and and take and whatever!!!

oh yeah and i don’t watch Amir Liaquat… just cant stand him :naraz:

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

My mother was watching his programme yesterday and I was like omgggg pleaseeeeee turn that offfffff!!! I can’t stand Amir Liaqat to begin with and then on top of that it was painful watching the studio audience running after him for the gifts! And he was acting like a shopkeeper too - Heera ka abaya, heera ka abaya, QMobile, QMobile!! :vivo:

Why not just have a normal quiz show instead of making it look like some mandi bazaar?!

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

uffffffffffffffffff wo aadmi bilkul b bardaasht kay laaik nahi hai :smack:

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

yup totally agree…I felt sooo embarrased for those people running after him. The only reason I watch it is for the questions answers with ulama. Yeah and agreed about him but won’t say anything from my side since I think it would be considered gheebat. But what is WRONG with people. Are they so hungry for free stuff now that they have no self respect?

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

no offense but yes it seems that they have become so hungry for free stuff :nahi:

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

yes totally agreed with you

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

We somehow like it. I have seen pizza hut cutlery in some very well-to-do homes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

If you think Amir Liaquat's sehri transmission is bad...........then take a look at ARY's sehri transmission with hosts Junaid Jamshed and some other guy.

I watched that show once during the time they were giving away gifts and it truly seemed like a "machli bazaar". It was sooooo unorganized and the audience was shouting and pushing each other. What made it worse is the fact that Junaid Jamshed (I totally admire and respect him) has no skills as a live host (especially with audience interaction) and neither does that other guy.

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

Seriously?

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

@Superdesi...yup I have seen that too. JJ doesn't know how to host. They do not engage the audience. But I watched it one time where kids were jumping on each other and ladies were wrestling to snatch the next gift. And what's this obsession with "Mobile" phones??? I just don't get it.

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

As i have said earlier

“TARIQ AZIZ SHOW KA RIP OFF KERNAY KI KYA ZAROORAT HAI???” cant they stick to normal Ramzaan transmission :smack: :what:

mujhay to kisi b channel ka program nahi pasand… chahay wo ARY ho ya GEO ya koi aur b… let the pro’s do their job… ARY per Waseem badami news/tajziya show anchor ya watever aur GEO per Amir Liaquat jo “munni badnaam hui” ka label lagwa ker wapas aa gaya hai :naraz:

really cant stand any of these Tariq Aziz rip offs… I am and still will be a fan of Tariq Aziz Show, kya awaz thi banday ki aur kya uska knowledge tha :k:

Re: Trend of asking for gifts

So funny watching women in niqab jumping up and grabbing free trash! Unbelievable. The point of wearing abaya and niqab and then jiggling your "chest" up and down in order to get Amit attention and gifts?
