Hi everyone! Please share the fall/winter 2010 pakistani trends and the anticipated trends of spring/summer 2011. Lets plan the upcoming seasons according to the current stylz and have fun!
Here’s a few I’ve noticed:
Fall/Winter 2010
-MATERIALS: KHADDAR AND VELBET TOGETHER
UPPER BODY INTRICATE DESIGNS (TAILORED NECKLINES WITH DIFFERNT FABRICS)
-PIN TUCKS/PLEATS AND LAYERING
Spring/Summer 2011
-LACE/KROSHIAY
-DOUBLE SHIRTS ARE COMING BACK IN STYLE
BIG POMS POMS ON DUPATTAS
SIMPLER NECKLINES WITH ACCESSORIES INCORPORATED IN (ALMOST LIKE A BIB NECKLACE ATTACHED TO THE NECKLINE)

Current n Upcoming Pakistani Fashion Trends of 2011
Hello Fashion Junkies or those who are just getting into the game. This is to help you plan your wardrobe according to the current & upcoming pakistani trends. I'll be listing the trends I've seen for this winter and for the upcoming spring/summer2011.
*Winter 2010
*-Materials: printded, plain or embroidered khaddar, velvet , warm n thick cotton
-double shirts
-2-piece linen heavily embroidered around necklines
-winter colours: black, red, royal blue, navy blue, n purple
-band collars, double collars, high collars & high necks, polo necks, cowl necks,
-long fitted sleeves, bell sleeves, flapper sleeves
Current trends and that will be HUGE in the next spring/summer.
-Lace/kroshiay
-pin tucks/pleats
-upper body details(multiple fabrics n colours)
-sewn in accessories around necklines (such as the bib necklace)
-We are seeing more and more of DOUBLE SHIRTS
-frog closures on shirts
-tassels on shirt daaman and dupattas
-light n pastel colours

They are already inn across India.
With Pakistan, they are coming back to normal sizes but not exactly "short" shirt. But we might see short lengths late 2011.

I'm looking to get a few suits stitched, like about 4 or 5, what styles should I go with? I love the long kameez trend, I don't want to receive them and it already be outdated :(

I don't know why people follow indian trends / fashion. Indian designers/actresses always prefer short shirts e.g" love kal aaj kal" ( when we had long shirt crazily in) .Because they like to show their legs withh or without clothes .and you would always find them wearing long and shorts at the same time. Anyways. I love long shirts n would prefer them over short shirts.

I dont think short shirts will be inn so sooon probably it may take a year and half or two, but frankly speaking long shirts give a very elegant look. I do have Indian and Bangoli customers here in US and they are crazy following Pakistani fashion . In 2011 it seems chooridar with kurashiya work/cut work on shirt will become as a fashion.

One of my cousins saw a Paksiatni morning show and according to the host supposedly short kameezein are coming back.
plzz dont chase the pakistani tv's shows bcuz they can wear anything n it would b considered gud1 THING simply...think now adys if we wear short shirt anywhere in parties,markets ect ppl would call us outdated...yeah i also watched dr shaista in morning show she wears short shirts,n looots of western dresses this dat but she is nt fashion icon mayb she is fedup of loong shirts,as she wore everyday...fashion is dat wat every girl wears n follows not a single host/actress.i personally dont think dat short shirts willb there in coming year or soon..frocks,flairs,n KALIYAN will b still in fashion.

Shirts are already shorter than what they were, and probably getting shorter. I'd say its medium legth shirts, below your knees but very much above you ankles :) with flares worn with chooridaar pajamas. Shirts are going to stay A-line for sometime I guess.
Lace fabrics are very in and are going to be big in spring / summer 2011.
Other trends:
Nude shades in clothes
bright shades in nail colors..... blue in specific
layers and flares

its a good forum, i visited today, im fashion designer and glad to know that people are well informed about the upcoming trends of fashion forecast for 2011. I agree with them all.

shorts shrts are nt in..they r nt in fashion...the only fashion change is that of pajamaz instead of cuelots and bellbottoms...and
yeh me hate the short shrts...i dnt want fashion to b changed....last month bridal couture week was held in lahore and i didnt see any short shrt style there...so they are nt in yet

True i agree with you since i am designer and many people are crazy after long shirts and especially my healthy clients wear such clothes confidently cause i get it sewn up to measure . BUT dear its not about following Indian trend but there are International trends to be followed with time otherwise we will be behind and not at par with them and secondly they wont be too short but 45 inches so no worries.

TO beh honest i feel apart from the film and drama industry the Indian and Pakistani fashion is very different, they way a dress is finished off with jewellrey, way dupatta is worn etc are different so I am in no rush to go to short kameez as long kameez is still got a long way to run

I agree, dont mix Indian fashion with Pakistani fashion, its so different. We come across daily customers Indian approach to clothes and jewellery will not appeal to most Pakistani's. We have started to receive new jewellery collection, soon you can see and decide for yourself.
