Re: Chairman NAB received a ‘threatening’ letter from the Chief Justice’s son
Yes, it is not issue restricted to anyone 'personally' rather the corruption is of "government" which PPP doesn't want to acknowledge and then try to fix it. Corruption has been there, this time the corruption is so high and there is no 'progress' to show at all.
I agree. PPP government did not pay attention to this menace. It is hoped that future government will do something to curb or at least control major corruption.
Re: Treasury facing 6-8 billion loss per day due to corruption: NAB Chief
No doubt that there is corruption in Pakistan. These exaggerated figures do not make any sense. According to Ali_Syed these figures add up to 2.4 trillion per year which is around 90% of the Pakistan's budget. 30% of Pakistan budget is spent on defense, making this claim as ridiculous.
Go and ask NAB chairman it's his figure not mine. As far as budgets are concerned dozens of mini budgets are launched through out the year and then the deficit is increasing each year.
Re: Chairman NAB received a ‘threatening’ letter from the Chief Justice’s son
That is 90% Pakistani budget for the year, highest amount that is around 30% goes to army. what is the basis of these figures? I think you should do some math before supporting these figures:)
It's not my figure, it's calculated by the guy who is supposed to curb corruption even if it's for a rupee, if it's exaggerated the government should take him to task. Even if it's right even then the government should ask him about his performance, but???
Re: Chairman NAB received a ‘threatening’ letter from the Chief Justice’s son
The NAB chairman would know how he has calculated these figures. Let's take a simple example, suppose I am working in a telephone exchange and I am responsible for it to work at all times even during loadshedding of 24 hours. For that I'll have to make sure that the batteries, generators of the exchange are in good order. The company would have allocated some budget for power plant issues, now some problem occurs in the generator. To have it repaired is essential, I call a contractor to check the issue. He tells me the details of the faults and tht it would cost 8000, I do a deal with him for 10000. The expenditure would have been done within the power budget for the company, but I'd have given it a damage of 20%.

Another shining example of one-sided discourse on GS. The thread is about Arsalan threateing chairman NAB and is right away turned into PPP bashing by a mod no less.

pakistan main har koi bakwaas kar sakta hay. He is not a an exception. You have already opened a thread on this. Please leave alone this thread as PPP bashing. Discuss the threat of Arsalan Chaudhry, the son of CJ. He seems to me as typical ghunda groomed by CJ.

Not in trillions.:) But you have posted this news item assumed to be correct which is unfortunately not. This NAB guy have no sense of Finance and budgeting, just a gimmick to justify his post.:)
Re: Treasury facing 6-8 billion loss per day due to corruption: NAB Chief
^ he is not justifying his post as the corruption should have gone down if NAB was performing its job properly, but the increase is showing that something's wrong there.

No, the thread starter decides what the thread is about, read the title.

Oh I get it now. Ali did some handywork on that thread and moved all but the first two posts to this thread. Now my post seems out of place. Nice work there

PPP is the government, awaam has all the right to criticize them, when they are not doing their duty properly. same goes for any other government, had any other party was running the country like this, you would see same awaam criticizing them, its not like its being done only for the sake of criticism.

**PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) issued bailable arrest warrants](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/#) for National Accountability Bureau (NAB) director general and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director after they failed to appear before the court despite being asked to do so several times.
**“They should have complied with court orders. The mafia has links at the highest level, the inaction of NAB DG and FIA s director suggests that they are part of the game,” CJ Khan remarked.
**The chief justice said that some influential people involved have been investing large sums of money to malign the judiciary. “I should not call out their names but there are a few, who have been continuously investing money to disgrace the judiciary,” he said.
** “The FIA director and NAB DG are absent despite several efforts and the court is constrained to issue their bailable arrest warrant,” the court ordered, adding that if the officials failed to appear before the court on the next hearing of the case, their salaries shall be blocked.
