whats better for weight loss?
eating less than you are able to burn everyday..
What's an elliptical?!
elliptical if youre not going to run on the treadmill. thats what all my personal trainers have ever told me.
Ellipticals are way better then threadmills at burning up fat and giving you a more rounded workout. They are also better at building up your stamina and allowing you to get involved with harder workout machines or just weigths.
However if you really like running threadmills may be better for you. The issue to consider is which one of them you would like to do regularly. If you have been running frequently in the past then threadmills would be better and if you are into sking or like the smoother excercise then perhaps ellipticals. How well you do with either will really depend on how dedicated and motivated you are and how much you change your diet due to excercising (i.e. if you start out and get hungry a lot more then normal, you may actually end up eating more then you are burning up)
Oh you mean Cross Trainers?
They are good especially if you are overweight as they place less stress on the knees and joints. HMCQ had some good points.
Although I would advise against buying one though unless you are absolutely sure you are going to use it on a regular basis. Too many just end up being used as very expensive clothes stands.
^yeah I agree. I would suggest try the gym for a month. If you can consistently run, do the thread mills or the elliptical for the whole month then you have enough motivation to spend the $300-$700 on the machine. If you are aiming for an elliptical on the low end (under $1000) go for the proforms. The Prodorm 700 onwards are pretty good.
