Hi everyone,
I am planning a honeymoon trip to PC muzaffarabad during the second week of March. I wanted to know the accessibility from Islamabad; can I take my own car (corolla) to muzaffarabad? How are the roads leading up to Muzaffarabad? Also, if anyone of you could comment on the quality of service at PC Muzaffarabad, that’d be great.
Thanks

PC Muzaffarabad is a good choice. Many of my friends have stayed there with their families and had good time. It is possible to take your own car there, corolla should be fine.
I don't have latest information about the road conditions, but its better not to have high expectations. I will check about it and post it here.

OK, asked around and found that road is good to travel with your own car. If you are planning to head towards Neelum valley then you can use your car until Sharda but beyond that you will need to hire jeeps.
Hope that helps

I am going to Bhurban and Muzaffarabad area in 2nd week of april. If you had to choose, which is better...PC Bhurban or PC Muzaffarabad?
Re: Travelling to PC Muzaffarabad - need help
Ps How do you go about hiring a jeep in the difficult to drive areas? Safely?

Most hotels can provide you with reliable drivers. In this case the OP can easily get to PC muzaffrabad via their own car. Park their car in their safe parking lot and take a jeep provided by the hotel.

Depends on your preference, both are good places to stay as far as I've heard.

Trust a local driver, it's their daily drive. However, it is recommended that you take into account weather conditions there. When there is too much snow or rain it is not a good idea to travel.

I mean in terms of activities nearby and things to see. They both seem to be in a very scenic location.
Re: Travelling to PC Muzaffarabad - need help
Also I meant safety, as in someone that isn't gonna rob you or otherwise....I guess. So the hotel's can refer someone reliable?

Both are self contained with enough entertainment indoors and close enough to entertainment outdoors that you can't go wrong with both choices.
Pc bhurban is more woody with an onsite track you can take a stroll in. It's close enough to murree and galiyat that you can plan day trips there. They also have a mini cinema for a movie date.
Muzaffrabad Pc is not as isolated. It's right next to the the city but high up that you get the view of the whole city surrounded by mountains. You can easily go to the city to sit by the river, go shopping in the market for local arts and craft. It's also a stepping stone for more adventurous stuff like going forward to neelam valley etc. We did the whole neelam valley trip by car but make sure you have reservations because it can get very popular and some stops are more guest house than hotel so be prepared to carry food with you.

PC Bhurban is better if you do not intend to go other areas outside Muzaffarabad like Neelum valley or Pir Chinasi for example.

Normally these places are safe just use common safety precautions, no display of jewellery, avoid carrying all your cash with you, keep an eye on your belongings etc.
