Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

hi,

I m goin to get married in september and already nikahfied. My nikah makeup was from madeehas (principal artist). I was happy wid makeup but my acne prone and oily skin became very very oily in 3-4 hrs, (thought i told artist there to take care of this thing). My nikah was in october. Now i m thinking to go to mighty , as in some thread, someone recommanded her.

My questions are:

  1. as i have to travel faisalabad right after my rukhsati… how to keep ma makeup fresh.
  2. mighty told me that makeup charges are 35K (signature) and for assitant makeup she charges like 15K almost and +, does anyone temme how assitant makeup is… I don wanna spend more than 20K on one day makeup as m already bankrupted by shadi shopping and stuff.

Please reply… I m very depressed :((

Re: Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

Why dont you look for some blotting paper or blotting powder that you can keep in your clutch to touch up on? Also, idk if they are sold in Pakistan but there are these makeup setting sprays which seal the makeup in (the spray is applied before and after your makeup) and prevent it from oiling up or become looking dull.

Is there anyone you can ask from Canada/US/UK to get you that spray or product before September? Also, tell the makeup artist you have oily skin so please use products that are either light in texture and set with powder. Tell them not to use that TV pain stick stuff as it is very greasy and on oily skin, it'll just slide right off. Or if possible, until September you can search for your own foundation targeted for oily skin and bring that along with you in September. Don't worry, there are lots of ways to curb the problem so you shouldn't worry!

hey m_was_here... Thanks...
I read abt those setting sprays... If u can recommand me some name and brand, i can ask someone to send me definitely... Can u plzz suggest me some wid name and specification as all ma family members there are either old aunties (who must not bother to search on their own) or uncles ( who cant )?

I loved bloating paper idea... Can i use both ... like sprays and bloating paper... and that settin spray clogs pores? I m with acne prone skin...

Re: Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

No problem! One spray I def. can recommend that everyone uses, esp. photographers and makeup artist is De-Slick by the brand Urban Decay: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P277222&categoryId=B70 You apply this before and after your foundation. I recommend this also b/c it is easily available at beauty department stores such as Sephora or Ulta, ask your family members to check on either OR you can order it online and have it delivered to their house. And also, no, this spray wont clog your pores because it even says it is hypoallergenic, so that is great.

And of course you can use blotting paper or powder over this spray. The same brand, Urban Decay, makes a top-selling blotting powder: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P210592&categoryId=B70

You can use that anytime you feel oil building up or want to matte-fy your skin, don’t use it RIGHT away after the spray b/c you might end up blotting away the spray, lol. I would keep the blotting powder in my clutch/purse and you can touch up in between but the spray is really excellent that you probably wont need to. You can also use blotting paper which are great too: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P216604&categoryId=B70 Also, if you were to order it online from Sephora.com, you dont have to pay shipping since Sephora ships for free any order above $50. You can also check this by MAC, called Blot Film: http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/177/300/Blot-Film/index.tmpl (they are blotting sheets)

You can choose either powder or paper but the easiest and fastest method is the powder, plus you dont have to throw anything away such as the paper etc. If you need help ordering or anything, let me know.

Re: Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

will u be travelling to faisalabad from karachi ?

Re: Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

What you need is
- an umbrella ! most people don't think about this but you have to find a way to protect yourself from the sun
- a mini fan
- a oil free primer
- a long lasting foundation : anything that will go on your face after applying foundation will stick to it.
and M is right, foundation sticks are BAD for very oily skin so you have to tell your make up artist you don't want that
- loose translucent powder, and make sure it's LOOSE, apply it after foundation and then again after your blush if necessary, focus on the forehead and nose/sides of the nose
- a setting spray is optional but be careful not to get one that has a high quantity of alcohol like the Urban Decay one, it's horrible for your skin, check out the Make Up For Ever "Mist & Fix", it's alcohol free !
- blotting sheets = they're really cheap and easy to find (don't buy the Mac ones, it's a rip off) and try to find one that is mineral oil free

Re: Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

oh and I forgot, if you have acne but you're oily, you're probably gonna use some sort of powder, but you should check if the powder contains Talc because it clogs your pores and causes breakouts so try to avoid it, hence why i stressed on using loose powder, a lot of them don't contain talc

Re: Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

Re: Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

I m travellin in night...:S
Just was unsure abt makeup stay... I think m gonna get these spray or before bookin m gonna ask ma artist if she is gonna apply it or not... But in pak... they don listen to customers.. like if they are using MAC they wont switch to body shop... and most of them, even big names uses Krylan :(... donno if its easy to apply !!! ??? .... its so cakey creamy... makes u so greasy :(...

Re: Travelling in Bridal makeup (mighty)

mac's blot powder and setting sprays don't seem to keep up with my oily skin. best product i've found is Kryolan's Anti-Shine loose powder. I can go out for hours on the most humid days and still come home with a fresh, flawless looking face!
