Traveling to Pakistan with an 18 month old

Hi,

So we are taking our son to Pakistan for the first time in june. He will be 18 months by then. We are most likely going to be taking either Ithihad or PIA. I have no experience in traveling with a baby and the travel agent says that we have the option of buying or not buying an additional seat for the baby since he is less than two year old. I am going from NY to karachi, so whats the best option, to buy or not to buy the seat? If we dont get a seat, does the airline provide a car seat type of thing? (As you can tell, I m totally clueless)
Also my son had mild eczema until he was about 6-7 months old and it resolved by itself but in hot weather he tends to get all red ( sort of like a breakout), any good lotions/creams that would be good for him in the hot weather?? thanks in advance

Re: Traveling to Pakistan with an 18 month old

If you dont buy a seat for your child, you will not be provided anything and he will sit/sleep in your lap the whole time. For children younger than a certain age (i forget how many months, i think 9 or 10?) they provide a bassinet. It was a godsend because we could put our then 9 month old in it for a little bit. This time i am going by myself with her and we havent purchased a seperate seat for her. I know its going to be super hard and i will be dead tired by the time we land in Pak but we dont really have a choice to buy another seat for her. Good luck.

Abt his possible redness/eczema thing, best person to ask would be his pediatrician.
