I live in US and plan to stop over in Middle East (Riyadh, Dubai and Oman) on my way to Pak.
I thought about renting a car but it looks like you cannot rent within Middle East. Any suggestions on how to plan the trip? Would it just be better to fly to all destinations?
Thanks for any feedback!
Dubai has lots of things one could do. I have never been outside of Dubai airport but there are lots of guides available online which one could use to explore Dubai. You will run out of time and money long before you'll run out of all the amazing things you could do in Dubai during a short trip.
So this would mainly be a trip to visit family/friends. I mainly wanted to know how to best plan visiting Riyadh, Dubai and Oman. It will be cool if i could just rent a car and drive to all the cities but i checked and at least Enterprise does not allow a different drop off location outside Dubai. I am looking at maybe 2-4 days of staying in the middle east on the way to Pak from US or on the way back from Pak to US and having a layover in the middle east. I presume it is safe but i was checking the US travel alerts and it is level 3 or 4 for Saudi Arabia but i think that is for the travel to Iran from SA.
Any experience or suggestions in planning a similar trip?
Oh now I got it. As far as I know driving in Saudi Arabia is very dangerous compared to other countries in the region. If you have never driven in Saudi Arabia before, I would suggest not to drive there without an experienced local driver by your side. Saudi Arabia has some of the best roads in the world, but has some of the craziest drivers in the world as well.
