I’m going to be travelling to Mannheim Germany this coming week and am wondering if anyone has any travel tips for a first-time visitor to the country.
Given that it’s a small city, how likely is it that I’ll run into language issues?
Also, I’m wondering whether the addresses in Germany work similar to zip codes? if my hotel’s address is “68161” and a point of interest is located at “68160”, what does that mean (if anything)?
Finally, are there any websites that I can use to lookup halal food places in the city?
In Germany you dont have real language issues. Almost everyone speakes English here.
And yes the addresses work similar to zip codes.
It seems that your place of interest is located in France? I have never been to Mannheim, but I know that Mannheim has a pakistani community so you can ask at your hotel for a pakistani, arabic or turkish restaurant.
Lol.... Its all a part of my masterplan to make danmark the new canada,...
:D
Ive already had a beaver, goose, moose and a native sent over to me by amazon.ca
Now...all we need are some curry eating guppies!
And plzzzzzzzz u guys are missing the best kinda butter man could find and cookies by NOT visiting this ultra clean "my-lungs-just-got-detoxed-by-breathing-THIS-fresh-air" country
Khawa I will come to denmark if you feed me all that awesome butter and also give me some to bring back with me to my pind. Also while I'm there Midget can coach Jr. on how to talk in khalis urdu :)
Both of your post codes are within Mannheim Inner city. So you wont be having much problem going around. Regarding Halal food I will get you some concrete information later as I am busy right now. You can look for Pakistani students as they know more about eating at Halal fast food or restaurants. Although you should remember that you are coming to a country where you wont be having much Halal choices as compared to US, UK Or oder Desi influenced areas.
thanks for the info folks. @Cheegum - that'll be a handy tool. Thanks for the link.
@khawateen - if I had the time, I'd definitely do a stop-over in Danmark as well. Unfortunately, I don't... say salaam to the family.
@aaho , thanks for the confirmation. I'm not too concerned about food choices. I can make do... and I've located a couple of turkish restaurants around my hotel, so hopefully, it won't be too bad... but any other information you think might help me is always welcome.
