Re: Travel tips

Carry on ( my hand bag):
camera, chargers, phone, wallet, jewellery, hair accesories, perfume, chewing gum, hand sanitiser, sunglasses, ipod, a few makeup items

Re: Travel tips

My hand luggage usually contains -

Purse, mobile phone, camera, mp3 player, a book or magazine, a notebook and pen, some sweet snacks, vaseline, moisturiser, comb, mints, extra hair clips and hair bands, and of course, passports lol.

Everything else goes into check in luggage, eg gifts(if going to Pakistan), clothes, things you can't take as hand luggage like perfumes or deodrants etc cos of the amount of liquid in them, plus toiletries, chargers, suntan lotion, jewellery, shoes etc etc!

Sometimes laptop as well depending on how much room is left..

Re: Travel tips

How do you carry makeup, lotion etc? I mean, do I have to transfer them into smaller containers? Id like to keep foundation, powder, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick on me...some lotion, sanitizer etc. Whats the rule with liquids etc? A few years ago my cousin flew and they threw out $200 worth of her makeup!

Re: Travel tips

Flying from London liquids of 100ml or less are ok in hand luggage as long as everything fits into one of those sealable see thru bags.. I can fit my creamy foundation compact, mascara, gloss and quite a lot of other stuff into them.. I'm just careful to take the slightly smaller sizes when it comes to bottles/containers..

Only time I've been caught out was when I bought some Victoria's Secret body lotion at Heathrow duty free which was 200ml and was made to throw it away when I went thru transit at Bangkok (really there should be a sign up at duty free telling ppl they should only buy liquids over 100ml if they're flying direct to their destination imo or it will end up being binned)..

Re: Travel tips

^^ Oh Girl!! you shouldn't have let them throw it away, cause you bought it from duty free inside airport right???!!!!!!

I once bought a bottle of red wine from San Fransisco Airport, it was a big bottle, i don;t know how many ml, and they wanted me to throw it away when i was going
throw transit in Kaula Lumpur. I simply told them i wont throw it away since i bought it from airport duty free and if they can sell it to me
it clearly means i can carry it, plus it is sealed and the duty free people told me i can show reciepts if i am asked about it, also, i am just transiting here, this is not my destination, i'll throw it away if they asked me to at Hong Kong airport. And after a while of argument they let me carry it.

And don;t worry, those things never go binned, they go to custom people :) it must have been used by a custom officer's wife :D

Re: Travel tips

makeup, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, cell phone, tissue, sanitary napkins, snacks, chewing gum, facial soap, hairbrush, hairclips, tweezers, thread..

Re: Travel tips

I travel a lot so I always carry my makeup/lotion etc in small containers in a zip lock bag. That way, if I have to jump on a flight I don't have to worry about having to throw away my stuff.

I usually carry my hobo purse with is quite capacious so I don't usually have an additional carry on. It contains:

a. A sandwich sized clear ziplock bag containing:
1. Small travel sized container of foundation for touchups
2. Lipgloss
3. Eyeliner
4. Lip liner
5. Small travel sized tube of hand lotion.
6. Chap stick
7. Powder compact
b. A packet of blotting paper
c. A packet containing a few hair ties & bobby pins
d. A book to read
e. A notebook & pen
f. Cell phone
g. Tablet pc.
h. Gum or mints
i. Wallet with ID & Credit Cards
j. Other miscellaneous items that end up in my purse; eyeglasses, safety pins, business cards etc.

Re: Travel tips

Re: Travel tips

OMG!!!! you guys carry so much, i try to have the least in my handbag esp when Im travelling. My purse, phone, lipstick and maybe some sweets. thats it!!! everything else i dump into the suitcase

Re: Travel tips

the things mention above all r really imp. but also tell the travel bag should be?? post pic if possible?

Re: Travel tips

I'm usually travelling between continents, do I'd rather have everything that I could possibly need right at my fingertips, than be sitting at a 6 hour layover wondering why in the world did I not put that thing in my purse :)

Re: Travel tips

Yeah…it pained me to have to pay $5 for a tiny thing of Vaseline at the airport :hinna:

Re: Travel tips

Same here. And I would much rather have that stuff and not need it, than to need it and not have it. I have been in that circumstance before and now it's just much easier to have small sized items handy in my purse.
