Travel Sickness

My little sister feels sick all the time whilst travelling, she hasn’t grown out of it - she’s 14! We tried everything, sickness tablets don’t work, she actually feels sick when she takes them.

I’m sick of it! Especially when I travel with her because when she feels sick, I feel sick! What shall I do? Hypnosis? Anybody?

Re: Travel Sickness

lol @ Hypnosis.

I get travel sickness too.. but I started getting them when I was older (around 19-20) so it's not a big deal that she's still getting them. When does she take the tablets? I was told to take them 30 minutes before take off and 30 minutes before landing if it's a really long flight. I only get sick during landing so I take it 30 mins before landing and it works for me. Sorry i don't have any other suggestion :(

Re: Travel Sickness

Preoccupy her in some other way so she doesn't notice the traveling e.g. listening to music or sleeping.

Hi,

I’ve had motion sickness all my life, and I’m in my upper twenty’s now… I’m not sure what country you live in, but try to get your hands on this medication:

Buy Stugeron , Cheap Stugeron , Online Discount Stugeron

its called Stugeron (not sold in the US, I get mine when I go to the UK), I haven’t found anything that works as effectively as this does. I also take Dramamine (sold in the US)…

A friend of mine also gave me motion sickness bracelets

With a combination of the medication and the bracelets, my motion sickness is drastically reduced…

I read somewhere that ginger tea and ginger candy works..and so does playing with play-doh.

Yeah she is just 14 so it happens even i have the problem but not now and when you travel no need to have oily foods which makes you giddiness so have lite food and you can take fresh lemon juice in a bottle and have while traveling it helps you to stay fit…

Drug rehab

I always get travel-sick too esp' when flying or sitting as a back-seat passenger in a car. But I never feel sick when I am driving.

Some remedies for car journeys that help me are:

  • Sitting in the front passenger seat (if someone else is driving) as I noticed I always feel sick in the back! If sitting in the back seat, then I concentrate on a distant object e.g. a person 300 years away or a traffic light...basically I just look out of the window throughout the whole journey! Lol!
  • Don't read books ot text msg!
  • Eat ginger biscuits or chew tiny fresh ginger pieces!
  • Listen to music!
  • Wear acupressure wrist bands, which you can buy from the chemist section in Sainsburys.
  • Make sure you get a flow of fresh air.

When taking off on a plane, chew a sweet; gulp continously or pinch your nose and gently blow to open your ears.
