Travel insurance

Hello people. I was wondering if some people are having same problem as me. I was to bring my mum for a visit for my graduation in July. They are asking for travel insurance for the trip. I wondered if someone can advise me of the companies accepted by the England government? Also, how long do u think, they will take to give my mum a visa?Thank you

Re: Travel insurance

Never heard of British embassy asking for travel insurance though this is a regular part of the procedure for european embassies. Age of your mom (no offense please :-D) could be a reason that they are asking for it.
Here is what you should do. Look through on the website of european embassies in islamabad and i v well remember that a couple of them have listed trusted insurance companies (probably German or French embassy). So just pick your favourite name and contact that company for details. An insurance company favourite to European embassies should also be acceptable to british embassy and i dont see a reason why not.
Travel insurance is some thing completely different from a standard insurance as you get it only for days of your travel and cost is almost negligible.
On getting visa, i dont have the latest update on the situation these days but they have been very strict in recent past. It usually varies from case to case but they should not be taking more than a couple of weeks on average. Better plan your visa application with a time period of at least 1 month in your hand.
