I am pregnant Alhamodolilah and I plan to travel in week 26 from Pak to US which is quite a long flight. Even if you travel via PIA it takes anywhere from 24 to 28 hours to reach the final destination. So far my pregnancy has been smooth and no complications. My doctor seem fine with me traveling. Hopefully many of you have traveled during pregnancy at some point. Kindly guide me if you think its safe to travel on such a long flight. its my first baby so you understand my apprehensions.
I travelled at 20 weeks. I wore compression stockings and made sure I walked up and down the aisle every hour or so. The main risk is formation of clots as you are at a higher risk and these are the preventive measures. Best of luck
If possible break your journey. E.g. You can travel from Pakistan to Dubai and spend a day or two before taking a direct flight to your destination or you could opt for Any other country mid way too.
I tavelled in week 24 weeks from pak to canada. It was a looooooong flight comrosing 28+ hours including transit waits. I was uncomfortable in seats because they are not designed for preg mommies.
Take extra pillow wid u. Airlines give u only one. I needed extra due to extea weight on my tummy. Book a seat with lots of leg room. Take your own snacks. I was foodie in that stage and airline food wasnt sufficient. I think i took emiratea or qatar and then air canada.
Oh and dot forget to book wheel chair or some kind of accessible service at every teansit airport and at final destinaion.
Really helps after a long flight of no sleep and toredness in those uncomfy seats.
They also help wid luggage and hand carry.
I just travelled with pia wid a 17 month old about 5 days ago. Though my needs in this trip were different than yours i wont recommend it at all. In a roughly 18 hour flight (was supposed to b around 15 but due to operational difficulties departed late) we only got 2 meals, no baby food though i had booked baby food in advance and no snacks (unless u went upto them n asked for it) n no juices. It was bad!
