Hey everyone .. I hope you’re all well .. I have received an appt for an transvaginal scan 
.. I am soooo scared .. I don’t know what 2expect .. has anyone had one done? before this one they want to do a normal abdominal scan that I am familiar with but what is a transvaginal scan? Ive already started worrying about it .. that’s all I keep thinking about .. can anyone please help .. thankyou!!

A transvaginal ultrasound is done by inserting the probe into your you-know-what. They do it to get a clearer ultrasound image as opposed to an abdominal scan.
It’s not too bad honestly. Definitely much much better than a pap smear if you’ve had one. They insert the probe (not as deep as pap smear) and leave it there and give you a paper sheet to cover up, so it’s not like someone’s staring down there all the time. Takes about 10 mins, and doesn’t hurt at all.

Ive never had a smear test done or anything of that sort .. I’m still a bit worried tho .. Im such a softie .. awww well thanx and I hope it is how you’re describing it to be without any pain .. thanx again!!
I was also very scared but trust me it doesn’t hurt. I preffer it over the abdominal scan as its much clearer. Just relax and it won’t hurtv:)

Transvaginal scan doesn’t hurt at all…I had it when I was pregnant. Inshallah, you’ll be okay.

it doesn’t hurt- it can be a bit uncomfortable but its just a routine thing and lets face it, pregnancy isn’t exactly the funnest thing to go through either.

thankyou for your replies Drama Queen, Iyla and somegroovychick .. after reading your posts I feel a bit reassured .. Ive got it tomorrow morning .. I know Im going to get really nervous and freaked out as thats just me but Im going to try to be brave! .. Ive got the abdominal scan first which I have to drink 1litre of water before I go then Ive got the transvaginal .. Im scared no matter how much I say .. wish me luck!

I had it once and honestly I didnt feel a thing.. it’s not like something keeps rotating on you like an abdominal scan (or so I thought) once inserted, they usually just look at the monitor and you hardly feel anything!

Im really nervous but Inshallah I will be ok well I hope so .. its tomorrow morning .. so tomorrow this time its all going2 be over .. Im planning 2go out with my best mate tomorrow evening so Ive got that to look forward 2

It doesn’t hurt all.. A lil uncomfortable i mean some pressure n thts it.. N once doc starts u r more excited to see monitor .. So don’t worry . I was also like u .but it was all gud

hey everyone … Ive had both ultrasounds and I’m absolutely fine .. it didn’t hurt at all .. I’m soooo proud of myself!! I actually preferred the transvaginal one lol .. when getting the abdominal one I felt pressure but with the other one nothing at all .. I went in and the lady told me maybe I don’t need 2get the transvaginal one, I was sooo glad but as I didn’t drink enough water I had 2 have both done and I’m glad I did .. thankyou everyone for your encouragement .. it really does mean alot to me my husband couldn’t believe I had it done without any screaming or getting upset haha
