Transvaginal scan (early pregnancy)

Hi,

I’m 9 weeks and yesterday i had an early pregnancy scan because i had a bit of spotting a couple of weeks ago but it had stopped but as i had the appointment anyway i thought i would go. They did the scan and alhumdulilla everything is fine. But since the scan i’ve had a tiny bit of blood and irritation there. I read on the net that your cervix is sensitive during pregnancy so this is normal..but it does feel irritated.

I kinda wish i didn’t have the scan as it has made me worry that it has done something to the baby. but i was happy to see the baby is okay.

anyone experience this?

I had them frequently in early pregnancy but did not have spotting. I don’t think it would be able to cause any issues in the womb.

nothing to worry IA, all will be o.k, I do remember having some spotting after the transvaginal ultrasound and my doctor did tell me that I might experience it and it is normal.

Thanks i was really freekin out i thought the scan had caused issues…i still feel irritated there. Pregnancy is so bloody terrifying and stressful…and it’s my 2nd time!

Awe - as long as the blood isn’t bright red you’re fine.

you’ll be fine iA. it can, and does, happen. doesn’t make it less freaky, but its all par for the course :slight_smile:

how’re you doing Ramsha? in the home stretch mA?

Doing good … baby is still breech so we go in for another ultrasound in a week and then they’ll try a ECV procedure at 37 weeks to see if they can turn it, if not it’ll be a c-section for me which is freaking me out a little.

^ It’ll be okay – don’t worry! Just make sure you’ve got help around for those first couple of weeks.
