Okay so one of my SIL’s last year got a A-line frock made out of her lehnga, and she was showing me and I thought it was a pretty good idea.
I was also thinking of doin somethin similar with mine as theres no other way I’m goin to get into that lehnga anymore, its around 6years old and short shirts were in then.
So I was wondering if someone here ca share their experience in transforming their wedding jora into something completly different, and how’d it work out?
Or any ideas on what to do and who could do it.
Are you in Pakistan? Best advice would be to give it to a skilled tailor in Pakistan. They will know how to stitch the shirt and lengha together in such a way that it looks like a frock. They will also know what needs to be added to give the perfect look. Could you ask your SIL to have it done by the same person she did hers by?
Mmm I dont have a wedding lengha, but I did this with a lengha I wore on my sisters wedding around 10 years ago. It came with a long jacket so I had a plain kamee and trousers made and wore the jacket on top :)

Yeah well I'm in the UK and my SIL sent me pics of her dress, I might be goin to Pak some time end of this yr, and wanted to do this with my lehnga.
I just want to be able to re- use my wedding lehnga, so that's y I thought of wearing it with a different look.
Of course, nothing wrong with that. I was just offering a different way to really put that lehnga to use, which over 90% of women never wear or use again.
guriya i wouldnt recommend that. I have noticed certain styles of wearing the lehnga which make it look like a sari. ill dredge up those pictures for you
i dont think its a good idea unless you're having a very skilled tailor, why not just get a long shirt/frock and wear it with lehnga dupatta? long shirts wont be around forever so you might not need to transform it
Ya please do post pix of the kind of look your telling me about, I'd b interested to see any other ways of carrying my lehnga. Thnx x
