Transfer news and views

Its rather difficult to keep track of all the transfer deals made in premiership, La Liga etc. So I would request all guppies who have these information and been following such news, kindly update us all.

There were lots of rumours about Gerrard moving to Chelsea, which were quashed today as Gerrard has decided to stay.

Rooney is a hot property in England right now and Everton might like to cash on it… It will be good for him if he move to a high profile club and play champions league this season. It will surely help his game.

So deco is going to Barcelona. He could make a great partnership wit Ronaldinho.

Deco poised for Barca Deal

Deco has risen to attention with Porto and Portugal
Portugal midfielder Deco has passed a medical at Barcelona, paving the way for his transfer from Porto.
Barcelona physician Dr Jordi Ardevol described the 26-year-old as “in good shape,” adding that he had completely recovered from a serious knee injury.

Deco, expected to sign a four-year deal, has promised to end the club’s five-year search for silverware.

“I want to send a message to the Barca fans - have faith in me because I’m coming here to win things,” he said.

He added: “It is true I had other offers but playing for Barcelona has been a long-held dream.”

Spanish media said Barcelona would be prepared to pay £8m to sign him from Porto, in exchange for Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta had said earlier: “We only have to tie up the final details of the agreement.”

Chelsea were favourites to sign the Brazilian-born star after the arrival of his former coach Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge but Mourinho is thought to have cooled on the deal.

Rooney future in balance](BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Everton | Rooney future in balance)

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright said he hopes Wayne Rooney’s future will be settled soon - but admits a sale would “revitalise” the club’s fortunes.
Kenwright said he would join with Toffees boss David Moyes in talks with Rooney during the next week.

The England star has two years left on his Goodison Park contract.

“Wayne’s sale would revitalise the club’s finances - but a five-year contract would also revitalise us,” Kenwright said.

“If we do that, the fact is we’d have kept one of the major stars of world football.”

Kenwright admitted that the club had to act to secure Rooney’s future and avoid the risk of him leaving for nothing in the future.

“David Moyes and I will be personally dealing with Wayne’s future in the next week or so,” he said.

“You cannot allow a player like Wayne to go into the last year of a contract and lose a major asset.”

Rooney, 18, has been offered a £50,000-a-week five-year deal to stay at Goodison Park but is widely reported to have attracted interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid after his outstanding displays at Euro 2004.

“He’s got two years left on his contract, and that situation cannot continue forever,” added Kenwright.

He added: “It is a double-edged sword and I know which I want to happen. The facts are that he hasn’t asked for a transfer, and we would like him to stay.”

Kenwright also denied reports of a crisis at the club following chief executive Trevor Birch’s departure last week.

“I don’t know of any power struggle,” said Kenwright.

“It’s absolute nonsense. I am not interested in power and control, all I want is for my club to do well.”

Meanwhile, former Everton captain Dave Watson said he did not think Moyes would keep Rooney at the club.

“It seems obvious that Wayne Rooney has been lined up to go to another club,” Watson told BBC Five Live.

“I am sure David Moyes has done everything he can but I don’t think it would have mattered what Everton offered him.”

“Agents control the situation and Wayne is not going to be staying.”

Watson, a key member of the title-winning Everton side of the 1980s, accepts supporters will be annoyed if Rooney does leave but feels the income the club will receive can be put to good use.

“It is a massive year for Everton and while I don’t expect the fans to react too well when Wayne leaves, you have to take the longer term view,” he said.

“If Everton get a lot of money to make the club stronger and David Moyes is given some of it to spend, the overall impact might not be as bad as they first think.”

Yeah Ive been playing that game for last few years, getting the latest version each time. Now whenever a new version comes out I play it for a few weeks and then get bored. Its addictive though and can take up hours of your time, so appraoch with caution :).

Chelsea has apparently secured the Drogba deal for £24.5m. It is a huge amount considering he wasnt so famous before last season. Havent seen any of Marseille matches but at such a fee he should be a good striker. New manager Maurinho has made some impressive additions to Chelsea squad and it is more than capable of giving Arsenal and ManU a tough time once again this season.

Didier Drogba in Blue Pledge

Chelsea’s impressive additionsa are: Robben, Drogba, Kezman, Paulo Ferriera, Czech keeper Petr Cech and Tiago (not confirmed yet)

Patrick Kluivert has signed for Newcastle from Barcelona in a 3 yr deal…thus proving once again that the Dutch players have to leave their small goldfish bowls in Holland to sign for the biggest and the best clubs like Barcelona and Newcastle

:jhanda:

^X, one can easily say that both financially and on a sportive level the switch from Barca to Newcastle is a step backward for any player...also for Kluivert.

Well Nes, i was commenting on both Newcastle and Barca being a significant step up ^^ from Dutch football. hence Kluivert’s decision not to return to his native Holland and preferring to stay amongst the big boys :smokin2:

nice strike force for us next season shearer and kluivert, i hope they click

Kluivert sucks anywayz :snooty:
Newcastle is a good club for him

1} the magpies have signed nicky butt from man united {subject to a medical}
