In Religion, there are no explicit instructions prohibiting or encouraging the act. It's clear however that Allah's creations are perfect and the male is not the same as the female.
Personally I think if medical science is sure that this person has predominantly female characteristics, I'd say it's like getting surgery for an ailment. Afterall when a child has a hearing defect, or eyesight problem, people do try and get it fixed so the kid can lead a normal life.
At 16, could it only be a hormonal imbalance? I mean if the person is expecting some male growth like facial hair etc and not finding them or getting enlarged breast tissue thinks he's actually a female?

I don't know what being a girl trapped in boy's body and vice versa means, but just out curiousity, what happens to the brain / mind?
Scientific research does show (how conclusively, I have no idea), there are significant difference between male and female brains and the way they "think", so do the brain and its processes change with changing of gender? Or is this process just limited to the physical body / genitals only?
Can transexuals have children, i.e reproduce?
