I don't understand the point of this thread. All you've done is bash your relatives and other "dark skinned" people you know because they are envious of "fairer skin" people like you. Was this just a way for you to let us know that you don't like these "dark skinned" people you encounter in your life? If not, please explain what the point was because I'm not really gettting much else out of it.

why is ok to call someone gori but not ok to call someone dark.....so what if i said it....? if people want to take that as an insult, it obv means there IS a issue here with colour.

lol, its not about me. those were xamples from a few cousins, and its a desi thing. i live in a area where theres many of them, and my parents know everyoneeeee, and this seems to be the topic amongst women. also because me and my sis are 2 diff colours and people exclaim all the time, it IS annoying.

i have a niece who is disabled, and whenever im out with her, you wont find the gorey staring, ITS THE DESIS who stare at her like shes an alien....it pisses me off because its our own people who stare and point and comment, either its ur weight/colour/looks/clothes/anything.

It's just so sad to see that we still discuss skin complexions and just can't get past it.

I've had girls tell me how much more fair they look today as compared to yesterday. Or they are so much more tanned than before. Most of the times, I bare it with patience but really just wana tell them straight up to just shut up and talk about something that is worth talking about. Why waste your time and energy on such lame subjects.

We are ALL Allah's creation. Allah swt has made us pretty, beautiful in our own unique ways. When will people realize that?! it's like Grade 2 stuff..seriously.

It's not the same. We all know that the work 'black', 'dark skinned' actually has a history where clearly people were looked down upon and had a lot of their rights taken away as a dignified human being. If you know the term carries with it such a huge impact and can hurt people, why use it?

This is absolutely ridiculous...why is it any of your concern what they use on their skin? That's their business, it has nothing to do with you.
