Fayz’s thread has inspired me.

Do you think it’s the gentlemanly thing to do for a dude to offer (and then insist) to pay, always? Would you rather split the bill, or pay yourself (or, if you’re a guy, always have the girl pay, you pathetic sponge)?

i think its arrite if they share the bill, split in half.. but sometimes thats not fair... so i guess pay for whatever u had..

i dont really like guys paying for my stuff (once off is ok.. but not always)

i always pay for my girls.. i hate taking money from people

I think if a guy treated me to dinner/movie then I would want to treat him the next time. Not out of obligation or anything like that, but because I want to. That would only happen if I enjoyed his company ... and I wouldn't be spending time with him if I didn't enjoy his company. Same applies to girlfriends.

I guess I've always been around old-fashioned men. I've almost always had a guy pay for me, and when I offer they've always acted insulted, and end up giving me the evil eye for the rest of the day/evening (and ego seems to be man's most valuable asset if it's that, even, so once that's bruised the rest of the day is too). I would love to split the bill or pay myself though, I'd feel so good after (it doesn't take much, does it?). Guys who would constantly expect a girl to pay (leeches, really) are complete turn offs.

Oh, I'm all for equality, womens rights, the feminist movement, etc, but fact is, men still have the lead in the desi community, so we might as well benefit, no? (Plus, I'd like to be able to spend the rest of the money on shoes and stuff.)

I always always pay for my girlfriends as well.

I pay no matter what, i fight like our desi parents do when they see a bill, i feel guilty if i dont
