In this years last semester I have to forfill 9 weeks of training at a company or office.
work will be anything related to administration work.
I am thinking to forfill my training in Pakistan.
an english company would be suitable, because I cant read and write urdu properly. making myself get heared is one thing, par proper reading is writing is a nono.
England oor Amerika to kissie ne Jaane nahie dena,
so thats why I am thinking of doing it in Pakistan.
is there a possibility?
are there companies in Pakistan who take a trainee from another country?
would it be a wise thing to do?
I am curious to see how it is to work in Pakistan, so I thought this might be right a way a good experiance to see how these things go there.
and if its possible,
can someone help me out with finding a proper company, is Islamabad, Lahore, or anywhere near Gujrat?
What I can tell you, is that there are several companies in Pakistan, that would hire people from abroad. I myself have been working in Pakistan for 6 months, as you know.
But I guess 9 weeks is too short and it's gonna be hard to find a job just for such a short period.
well it can be any kind of work related to administration work.
work at a bank se le kar kissie textile mill tak, if there is administration work to do and learn, its all ok.
My dad is still in Pakistan,
so I gave him some numbers to call and check if there is a possibility,
so one bank said that it is possible, even for 9 weeks.
they told abbu to send an application, with all the papers of approval from college, and then I might get selected.
I am gonna send it to 2 or 3 banks at a time.
if one does not approve it, the other might ...
u can definitely get an internship for 9 weeks at ABN AMRO BANK,STANDARD CHARTERED GRINDLAYS if banks is the only place u r looking for other wise there are many mor eplaces which would take u for a short while like Nestle,Packages etc.
i have already asked a friend of mine back home to get the numbers and will give them to u as soon as she emails me back!!sorry but u will have to wait for a few days!!
If you are planning on going to Islamabad, you should go and see Enabling Technologies (Avaz Networks), located at the former Awami Markaz (Software Technology Park). It is one of the best tech companies in Pakistan, and they need people for administration. I was also doing an internship over there during my time in EME, NUST, before I transferred to the US. The atmosphere there is excellent, the offices are quite western, they have cubicals, and there are alot of females working, in all fields, including engineering. Why I recommend this company, its because I believe you are from some european country, and you will feel most comfortable working at ET's environment!
Hanie most companies in Pakistan conduct their business in english as far as written communications go. You will not have an issue due to urdu deficiency.
what country are you in right now? in US sometimes companies are looking for interns for their international locations. e,g, P&G used to send interns who could work in pakistan for internships in Pakistan, they did the same with south east asia.
Internships, especially for short durations i.e. less than full summer are not usually filled by a structured application process, especially if you are looking for an unpaid internship, which btw I would recommend ebcause the internship stipend is very low and for 9 weeks, it makes more sense to get good experience at a wellknown company.
If your family knows anyone at any of the large pakistani companies or multinationals its a piece of cake. just ask them to find a project for you to work on for 9 weeks. but contacts are the key here.
specifying what you mean by 'administration' may help because it can mean a lot of things.
Spock:
thanks alot for your contribution.
well workplace isnt a problem, ( ET chaahe koyi oor)
if the work that I will get is good, to koyi maslaa nahie haye. thank alot ... :)
tutu:

I am In Holland at the moment. I have to arraing everything on my own here, college only helps if I go to England or Germany, couse they have contacts there, but I am not alloud to go there, no relatives and place to stay. I know, there is always a place where you can stay, but arents wont agree.
yes its an unpaid training,
well family is looking at two banks near the place where I live. but my college isnt giving me the papers I need at the moment, otherwhise I think I would have got a place in "first Women Bank limited" In Gujrat.
administration can be anything, thats true, but I cant even specify it myself. Just think that everything is possible. : )
traveling would be a major problem ... :(
