And i am glad to see they brought Gary Oldman back. though, they had to, right? i mean, he is dying after all. (no…it’s not a give away. if you read the books and shed some tears you would know

Yup!! Gary Oldman had to be back but he won't be in the next ones coz he died in the fifth installment. Hope this one is as good as were the 1st n 2nd.The third one was not upto the mark.

Asma, I'm with you. The books have been really fun reading, good, light reading. The movies have been decent. I do not, however, like the new Dumbledore. The Dumbledore in the first two movies was excellent. This new Dumbledore screams too much and too often seems to be out of his wits, which is so unlike Dumbledore who is always calm and collected no matter what.
Yes, I am also anxiously waiting for this film AND the last book. The other reason I really like this series of books is that it really has brought back reading to the limelight as something that kids do. It is always very encouraging to see children waiting in line for hours for a book rather than a gaming console. Finally, it is also such a fantastic success story for the author who was living hand to mouth, had nothing to her name, and is now the head of a franchise empire worth more than a billion dollars. It's a good example of "when GOd wants to give you, no force on earth can stop Him."

Hmmm. I didnt actually like this book. It dragged...on and on and on. There was no real point to half of it and I dont think the movie will be upto the scratch either. The last movie based on the forth book was rubbish! They missed out so much, including Winky the house elf, I was not too happy about that.
We'l see.

This book wasnt one of my favs because I was really pissed at the ending and there is so much stuff that was just so unnecessary. But I am super duper excited for the movie!! I just wish they would release it sooner. July 13 is too far away :(

i wasn't pissed...i was confused at the end of the movie. i was sad at the end of HBP (no duh). this one...i dunno. i can't wait to see the time changing room and the department of mysteries. or the weird horse-skeleton thingys :D

Yes quite true, the new Dumbledore screams very much and he isn't humble like the previous one but they could not help it coz the other one died of Hodgkin's disease just before the release of CoS.

of course the end wont favour harry, he is like one of the most popular characters of this century, and even though JK Rowling is rakin git in from the books, i dont think she'll want to carry on the story after the 7th book

Yup I agree and I think myself that Harry wont die in the end but it still haunts me that something bad will happen to him.Well the 7th is well in the process of being written, let's hope for the best.

I can't wait for this movie. I think the trailer looks really good and this storyline is made for the big screen. I felt the 5th book dragged as well, but the movie should be great.
But I am more eager for the final book. I thought the release date would be 7/7/07; but with the movie coming out the same week, it doesn't seem likely.
