Traditions / Customs survive till ladies survive

Read somewhere that traditions, customs, mail milaap aana jana (gatherings) continue till lady of the house is alive.

If there is no lady in the house, males even can’t connect with the close relatives for long.

How do you see this observation?

Is it due to the fact that ladies are more socialised than males or there is some other story behind it.

Re: Traditions / Customs survive till ladies survive

In ye old times women didn't go out of the house much so they had to stick with what they knew and the people they knew because of the lack of exposure. Men have had the liberty to explore new people, cultures etc. so it's easier for them to move onto something new.

But still in east, a chaRRa person might face problem to interact with families.

Re: Traditions / Customs survive till ladies survive

I think its true to some extent. Women are the natural bond makers. Because of the kids they tend to want more social interaction. Be it with relatives or friends. It might also be coz most women are more communicative and open to entertaining guests and they enjoy the process of dawats and get togethers.

But having said that, I know some men who are absolutely brilliant in forming relationships, .. but its a fact that if the man isnt very strong at these skills then yes , he wont be able to have a good social life without the women in his life ( wife, daughter , sister , mother etc )

Re: Traditions / Customs survive till ladies survive

All cultures are being globalized and merging into one. It does no matter what values men or women hold. Soon, one globalized culture will be prevailing. And actullly that will not really a culture but set of rules you will live by.

Yes I agree with Ajaz as well , we are definitely moving towards that kind of a lifestyle that he mentioned.

Having said that, I still feel , its very true that ghar aurat sai hi banta hai ! and I feel, social life is part of that ghar banana aspect .. see what i mean?
