no i agree totally with you. I think im not making my point clear enuff.. what im trying to say is...

a) being a muslim, u practice ur religious obligations but arent necessarily a good human being
b) being a good muslim, is practising ur religion and much more and on top of that are a good person to all people regardless of faith
c) being a good person, without having a religion..

there are at least 3 categories.. wouldnt u agree?

Traditionally only Rights of God and five pillars are thought of as an Islamic obligation where as religiously four kinds of rights and obligations are imposed, as follows

The Rights of God
Rights of ones own self
Rights of other human beings
Rights of All Creatures

Its unfortunate that we are mostly taught about just the very first. The five pillars of Islam, all fall in the rights of Allaha. The rest of the three are not mentioned much.

So considering the above how will you re-formulate your 3 categories.

very interesting :)

ive no doubt that Islam teaches you the values to be a good human being, cus thats part of being a muslim right? but as you described he four obligations, most muslims only get taught the first...

I wouldnt redefine my categories cus majority of people still dont know the difference between being a muslim.. and being a good one at that.

culturally, I'm liberal
religiously, try to be as religious as possible....but its definition is different for everyone

same here , i am not religious but sometimes i am :-s depeneds on so many things .

I'm more religious than traditional.

I'd say religious, though I don't seem like one but I give religion priority over traditions.
