Trade with India - threat or opportunity

There may be a some Threats/apprehension on Pakistan from the affect of Imports from India.
But there will be oppotunities too.

People who can adapt to changing times - will be the one’s to make the money. New Dealerships, business expansions (or reductions), Tourism etc.

How do you view this MFN Trade agreement - A threat OR opportunity.

Re: Trade with India - threat or opportunity

how do I view it ? its bull****

Re: Trade with India - threat or opportunity

Funny, such a massive step has been taken by these two countries and not a good word from anyone.

What are the alternatives: continue the cold war.
Till when? Forever? I think Pakistan has reached such a stage - it does not even know whats good for it.

"Trade/Peace" is much better than "War/Hate"

Re: Trade with India - threat or opportunity

considering the dynamics of the region , I believe its an opportunity ... It has a huge scope for the relationships to improve ... come to think of it , we have potentially the worlds largest economy in China , rising economy in India , packed with natural resources and geaographically the best opportunity with Gwader Port , why cant be utilize our power and resources to make the region strong economically ?

I really think its a fabulous step between governments but we will need some serious key guidelines or else it will fail ...

Re: Trade with India - threat or opportunity

The best models probably are USA/Canada, the whole European Union, Australia/NZ where collaboration and cooperation is the emphasis.

Contrast that with Iran/Iraq, India/Pakistan and we can see why Asia may not realize its full potential unless the neighbors get their act together.

Re: Trade with India - threat or opportunity

I agree with Southie , to be honest our subcontinent region is a pretty strong one and if we learn to tactically combine the resources and policies , for sure we have the potential to be seen as an emerging economy ...

but the whole thing is that we are dumb enough to not let personal differences aside.. we drag business policies as well in all our larai .. that is the biggest reason why the region is so deprived ...
