Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. xan we sue
Usually if anyone agrees to buy a car like this, whether they knew it or not, is because they got it for a really good deal. We've bought two cars like this over the past few years. One of them was a model at the Motor Show. First launch, first version, first everything of that vehicle in Dubai. It had some kilometres on it, hundreds of peoples' finger prints, but apart from that it was brand new. Second time we bought a luxury car that had been driven around a bit, had like 500 kilometres on it, but we got it anyway cos it was almost as good as brand new and we were given a substantial discount on it.
Point is, if you're going for something which isn't 0 kilometre and brand new out of the showroom, there's always other things in the picture. If I was going to go buy a second hand car, or something which isn't one hundred percent brand new, I would definitely have asked what's the deal with the car. It is logical. If you won't ask the showroom, or Toyota dealership people questions if you're going to buy a car that isn't brand new, then it is your own fault. Salespeople are sly, at the end of the day all they want to do is make a sale and get their commission. It is up to you as a customer to do the research and ask around, before buying something.
You don't need a law degree to have basic common sense.
Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. xan we sue
Also the title of this thread is arbitrarily misleading and wrong; you've said you never asked them about it, they never disclosed anything, so it cannot be lying. It would be labelled as information withheld.
Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. Can we sue?
what kind of accident was it? i bet your MIL hit the car with kaamwali in passenger seat for extra mass.
Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. Can we sue?
Wohhhhh
When I said "we'.I meant someone I know. I didn't need to write that it doesn't matter to the story does it ?.did want to elongate the story by telling you who it's for etc so just told simply "we bought a car".
In answering the questions, no they never told us about accident , we didn't ask, but why didn't t they?.also the driver found out by accident at a garage because it eats a lot of the engine oil and when confronted at the main dealer they just denied it and said the model eats a lot of engine oil and you have no proof of accident.
Do we need proof. Unless the car has been previously registered can we get proof of history?
Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. Can we sue?
by we do you mean you and i? this is very confusing.. i dont want a tyota...
Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. Can we sue?
Don't you guys have websites that can give you car history? If I were you, I would look online.

It consumes engine oil. Mechanical machines performance fade with time. Did you take car to mechanic?
Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. Can we sue?
This car was bought 6 months ago .It consumes way more than normal.
Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. Can we sue?
Nadz, did you guys take it to mechanic? If not then do so.
Re: toyota main dealer lied to us. Can we sue?
If the accident was not reported to authorities then you have no proof and the dealer cannot be held responsible.
If the mechanic is saying that the car "must have been" in an accident then it will come down to his word against that of the dealer's and unfortunately it sounds like the dealer will get away with it.
