What is ‘Towheed’ and Towheed-e-Rabubeeyat’? Please share views. Let me start first.
**Towheed:
**It implies that everything in existence originates from the one and only Creator, who is also the Sustainer and the sole Source of Guidance.
Literally “Tawheed” means “unification” (making something one), “asserting oneness” and/or “doctrine of Oneness”, and it comes from the Arabic verb “Wahada” which itself means to unite, unify or consolidate. However, when the term Tawheed is used in reference to Almighty Allah i.e. “Tawheedullaah”, it means the realizing and maintaining of Almighty Allah’s unity in all of man’s actions which directly or indirectly relate to Him.
**Towheed-e-Rabubeeyat:
**It implies that a firm and definite belief that Almighty Allah is alone the Creator, the Master and Owner, ‘Al-Muqeet (Raziq)’ and the Command is for none but Him. The polyethiests of Mecca also believe/accept “Towheed-eRabubeeyat”.
Almighty Allah said in Chapter Yunis verse 31: "Say, “Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? **** Or who controls hearing and sight **** and who brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and who arranges [every] matter?" ****They will say, " Allah ," so say, "Then will you not fear Him?”
“Provides” may be understood in the sense of all the provision necessary for maintaining physical life as well as mental and spiritual development and well-being. Examples of the former are light and rain from heaven and the produce of the earth and facilities of movement on land and sea and in air. Examples of the latter are the moral and spiritual influences that come from our fellowmen, and from the great Teachers and Prophets.
“Hearing and sight” just are two of our ordinary faculties are mentioned hearing and sight, as examples of the rest. All the gifts of Almighty Allah, physical and spiritual, are enjoyed and incorporated by us by means of the faculties and capacities with which He has endowed us.
“Who arranges matters?” is the general summing-up of the argument. The government of the whole Creation and its maintenance and sustenance is in the hands of Almighty Allah. How futile than would it be to neglect His true worship and go after false gods.
There are two juxtaposed positions for the term "tawheed" (wahada) ...
On one hand it means "unified" - i.e. that everything comes from One Source ..., but on the other hand it means "Unique", which means nothing is like it ...
So there is a need to understand Tawheed as "everything coming from Allah (SWT) but at the same time nothing being part of Allah (SWT)" ...
In the sense of "unification" we hold no reality and He is Real ... yet in the sense of "uniqueness" He gave us a real creation and we are nothing like Him.
We can see that Creation is nothing like Allah (SWT) but at the same time our perception of transient events within creation is due to nothing but Allah (SWT) ...
Tawheed is about learning how to give up ownership of "self" recognising only "Him" ... but at the same time protecting the purity in His Uniqueness by disassociating ourselves from His Divinity.
Tawheed recognises the Lordship of Allah (SWT) over all things ... we arrive at this conclusion from the definition of Tawheed - that since we have understood He is the true Reality, then what we convince ourselves of is consequential ... Although we do not ever say that we are not a reality, because that would negate His act of creation. Where we determine we are real and yet have no real independence from The Real ... then we conclude that this is the condition of intense subordinance and hence realise He is Lord over us.
By being Lord over us we must strive to understand that His Will must be done in order for us to maintain the ethos of Tawheed.
The rejector of 'Towheed-e-Rabubeeyat' called 'Dharriya' or 'Dahriya'.
What is 'Towheed-e-Alvuhaiyyat'?
Its implies that the One without rival in His divinity and in worship as mentioned in Holy Qur'an, Chapter 2 verse 163: "And your Allah is One Allah: There is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful." Means to single-out Almighty Allah alone for all worship and not to worship anything along with Him, whether it be an angel, a Messenger, a Prophet, a pious person, a tree, a stone, the sun, the moon, or other than these.
Tawheed As-Sifaat means in addition to believe in 'Oneness', one should also believe in Almighty Allah's names and in those attributes which told by Himself in the Holy Qur'an and are unique to Him. Moreover these 'Sifaat' can't be compared with any creation none can imagine it.
Believing without any construe (Taweel), condition (kefiyat), tablature (tamseel) and lastly without any Ta'ateel called Tawheed Al-Asma Wa-Sifaat.
