Tourism Industry of Pakistan

We all know that pakistan is full of many scenic places. Some are even better than switzerland or any other country.. but the thing is the tourism industry basically survived on the Northern areas, Muree, Nathia Gali, Gilgit, Naran, Kaghan, Muzaffarabad and many more places. Due to the recent earthquake, everything is now ruined. I mean the scenes are still there but there are no hotels and residential places left. It might take ages for us to rebuild the whole structure in northern areas, because of lack of resources, no proper roads… Will pakistan be ever able to attract tourists to these areas, like it used to? People in Naran and Kaghan valley earned major portion of their income during the peek season.

Long Live Pakistan. :jhanda:

Re: Tourism Industry of Pakistan

I know I might sound politically incorrect, but after the WW2, most of Europe was destroyed, but from the ashes rose new & better cities.

The human spirit is strong and all these areas will soon overcome this tragedy and perhaps even improve on their facilities.

I wish Pakistan well.

Re: Tourism Industry of Pakistan

goverment has promised a new international standards city which will be made keeping tourism in mind.

Re: Tourism Industry of Pakistan

More than creating a beautiful city, if pakistan would create a safer place to travel, more tourists would show up.

Re: Tourism Industry of Pakistan

Tourism in Pakistan The foreign tourist arrival that is is strictly confined to Karakorum highway Gilgit Hunza Skardu which are away from earth quake. However i amust admit that there is literally a creeping tourism industry in Pakistan. Most of the tourism companies have been shut down or downsized to one or 2 persons after 9/11

Government basically has no intentions of developing tourism i prsume they are scared of education tourism can give to masses.

look at www.tourism.gov.pk 50% of the time site is down and has never been updated since 2002

Pakistan on the other had offers probably the most beatiful scenary colorful culture and a very friendly environment. But like every thing else culture is also changing more destruction is going on at archeological sites. Museums are the same but now foreigners have to Pay Rs. 200 for entrance fee whaere as the facilities in return are next to nothing. They cant even print proper tickets for that price.

I am in travel business since 1989 and i have been sing just a decline since then.
