Depends on how much time you have on hand. Colombo for sure, Nuwaria Eliya is great for the highland scenery, and my favorite Hikkaduwa Beach down south near Galle.

I don't think it matters if you go in June or July...it is hot anyways...
What mufaddal said are good places...also go to Trincomalee...it is gorgeous..and you can do whale watching too...
Just make sure you don't go out in the nights too much..these days it is not too safe... (am a Sri Lankan...so I know what I am talking about).

planning to go end june beginning of july for 6-7 days.
Proposed plan is
- mount livania
- elephant orphanage
- tea garden
- Hikkadua
- ngambo
any suggestion. what about visa for pakistanis . from net i found that ETA to be filled online and than visa on arrival can be achievd.

Pigeon Island Resort in Trincomalee - but it is a very long drive…
The Elephant Orphanage is a good one!
Mount Lavinia…hmmm…is there any particular reason you are going there?

From my understanding, Pakistanis dont need visas to visit Sri Lanka. But of course, you should always check with their embassy/consulate.

^ you need visas now...but you can get it on arrival...I think it is about $25.00
