Touchscreen issues

OK so this isn’t a Galaxy bashing thread (and please don’t attempt to either coz I don’t take that gracefully :p).

But my husband’s new Note II, fresh out of the box, handsome looking, was working great until one morning when he woke up to find that the touchscreen isn’t working. Unlike what some of you may be thinking, I didn’t do anything to it I promise, and neither did my kids, and all possible troubleshooting from rebooting to wiping caches and reinstalling firmware has been done but with no fix.

Anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

Re: Touchscreen issues

what firmware is you using? did u google it? I am asking you that once I had an issue and got panicked. did everything soft reset, hard reset and discovered in the end by googling that I accidentally enabled something from settings.

Re: Touchscreen issues

what settings did you enable?

Re: Touchscreen issues

that was completely different issue. Phone screen used to go blank after the call connected, and I thought its some kind of bug/error. It was in call settings. you can enable and disable it or the phone automatically turns the screen off during call to save battery.

Re: Touchscreen issues

If nothing works out, you can always go back to your seller and get a claim/replacement.

Re: Touchscreen issues

Yes, I suppose that can be done.

Galaxy Note II and brand new ?

I don't think there is a setting to disable touch screen altogether, how can you enable it back if the touch screen doesn't work. Most probably hardware issue, if it's under warranty why don't you try the service centre?

Does it work at some part of the screen or doesn't work anywhere? Do you have a USB OTG dongle ? You can connect a usb mouse or keyboard to it for testing settings. You can enter Samsung's service mod by entering one of the below code on your dialer (use a keyboard if possible)

#0 #

*#197328640#

From the service mod test the touch screen

If it's just out of the box ...its better to send it back in the box. I think you have tried everything but opening the unit and voiding the warranty.

Re: Touchscreen issues

I 2nd what DMD says. Send it back since the phone is still new. They should send you a replacement.
