i have a friend who claims to have injured herself and bled a little bit while touching herself “down there” as she was verbally being stimulated by her husband. she refuses to see a gyno and is wondering if it is necessary to go to one at all. thoughts?
yeh Tell her to atleast go for a general check-up. For the sake of health reasons only. She can get some sorta disease or some ailment of any kind. Its a rough treatment for a such a smooth land.

what was the need to touch there while her hubby was doing the job

Her husband wasn't doing the job, she wrote that the husband was verbally stimulating her while she was doing the job. Anyhow, Moona, I think there would be cause for concern in this case since a married woman shouldn't bleed so easily like that, since she's not a virgin. However, in a virgin's case it would be more understandable, since the hymen isn't broken yet, and any forceful touch may cause a slight tear.
1- She should definitely see a doctor. Even if she didn't have bleeding, an annual physical 'down there' is absolutely necessary to keep the area healthy, to prevent and watch for yeast infections, urinary tract infections, cervical cancer, endometreal (sp) layer problems. I can't believe how many women out there aren't concerned with the health of their reproductive systems, it's jahaalat at it's best.
2- To all the people concerned about why she was touching herself when the husband was there to do the job, grow up, there are more ways to have sex than plain simple penetration, there is this thing called foreplay, people enjoy sex in different ways, not just the same ol' traditional way, so give her a break.
3- Fret Wizard, a girl can break her hymen from other things than sex, this is a very primitive thought process that if the girl doesn't have a hymen she isn't a virgin, using tampons can cause the hymen to rupture, horse back riding can cause the hymen to rupture, riding a bicycle can cause the hymen to rupture, some girls don't have a hymen at all. So relying on the hymen to determin virginity is primitive and ineffective.
On a related note, aren't most women supposed to have a pap-smear regularly? That is a must, and it detects most of the problems in that area. Especially for married women because they are sexually active.
No I am not a doctor, and the rest of the post is probably just based on common sense. The important thing is whether the bleeding has stopped now, or is it continuing. If it has stopped, it might just have been a tear on the skin surface, not unlike anyother bruise, and may have been caused by her nails or something. Most of us don't go rushing to the doctor for all bruises or minor skin wounds. However if there is internal bleeding, then its probably not as straight-forward and she should immediately see the doctor. Another reason could, ofcourse, be irregular period, and that again is something the lady should know from an experience view point.

I'm aware of that aahmed. Not many details were given in the original post, so I simply said that it was more understandable that this would happen to a virgin because it is possible to break the hymen from touching one's self forcefully "down there". I never relied on the hymen to determine virginity.

Faisal bhai
Pap test or Papuinicolou is named after the stain used to identify early cancer cells in dx cervical cancer ONLY .
You did not have to apologise that you are no doctor it was obvious .;)
