No they should not be banned. You just have to be an educated user.
It's just like there's so much food out there, some good some bad. Depending on your taste and heath conditions, you pick and choose what you like and need but you don't ban the rest.

Why would you ban it? Torrents were my savior back in Karachi, they brought me all kinds of entertainment. And I saved a ton of $s.

like for prohibited activites. here in the uae, the weird sites are blocked off even when you’re downloading torrents from a site. i hope i make sense.
Use to get movies from torrents not anymore. Netflix and cable r enough for me now.
But if I ever needed a software I sure will use torrents.

Torrents is a technology, not kisi ki khaiti key aag laga do. You can use it for good or bad. Logs of other items using that technology e.g. BitTorrent Sync.

The famous Pirates has been shut down a few times, all their equipment was conficsated by the Swedish police/ Swedish Government. Yet they keep coming back the very next day. :D
BTW, that is one of the safest one to download from. The uploaders here get a rank, which tells you if it is safe downloading from them.
