Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

Hi!
I am getting married next summer in Toronto…and have been looking for vendors. I am stuck at Decor. Some are overly-priced, some bad at customer service…it’s all so stressful! I will soon be meeting with Sara Baig Designs and Khazana Creations. I’ve already heard about Sara Baig Designs. But does anyone know anything about Khazana Creations?

I really like this one backdrop of theirs on their website. But I just wanna know if anyone personally worked with them - to find out about their reliability etc.

Please help!

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

Hi!

I'm looking for decor as well. I've looked at both Khazana and Sara Baig -- Sara Baig never replies :S I've literally left her three msgs. I can't really book someone who goes MIA like that. I've seen Khazana's work at a friend's wedding -- it's very nice :) It's not over the top amazing, but it is quite good. I have yet to meet up with Khazana -- Mandy told me they won't be back til after the 15th of November

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

Thanks for replying!

Yeah, Sara Baig did take some time initially...I had to email, then msg her. But she's quite popular so I'm assuming she's not as bad as, say Napisha from The Perfect Setting? Napisha was such a pain to get in touch with, I quit after a few tries.

You've personally seen Khazana's work? Can you tell me more? As in...I would assume it wouldn't be super amazing because they do charge less...but I've liked a couple of her backdrops on her website. Esp. this one called Peacock something - it's cream white and grey...looks very elegant! And I want something elegant for my wedding, not grand or elaborate. But pictures can be deceiving too...which is why I want opinions of someone who's SEEN her stuff. Would you classify her stuff as elegant even though it's not absolutely amazing? What about the centre pieces?

I'm not sure who else is there. Dream Party Decor is very expensive. Diya Decor never replied to me. Are there any other really good ones?

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

Sorry to hear Sara hasn't responded... I can say with complete confidence though that she's prompt and very good at what she does (she gets standing ovations at weddings from her client's, for crying out loud!), so if she hasn't responded, there is probably a valid reason why. She's never gone MIA on a client or been neglectful. Full disclosure- she's a very good friend of mine and I've sent her this page so you should hopefully be hearing from her very soon.

Sparklesnflorals, can you PM me your real name so I can forward it on to her and have her check for your email ASAP?

Other decorators in the area are Karma, Design 2 Decor, EventDecorators.com, J'Adore Decor, to name a few.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

I have heard good stuff about Sara...but yeah initially it was hard to get her. And also, she seems to come off as someone who won't even go an extra 5-10mins past her closing time to accomodate the client. But anyway, I dont wanna make judgements, and I will be calling her soon for an appointment.

However, I really do think I'm leaning towards Khazana Creations...I just need more word of mouth for them from people.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

does anyone know how much khazana and Sara baig charge for stage deco?

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

I'm not sure about Sara Baig - yet to talk to her about her prices. I've only heard about her mostly from my friend who's gonna meet her soon. I'll ask my friend what price she gave her. And will call her myself in the enxt few days then will let you know.

Khazana charges around $900 for the stage.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

thanks! please do let me know of sara baige as well!

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

I know that she has to pick her son up from school at 5 and she cannot be late for that- as a new parent, I can tell you, they charge a ton of $$ by the minute if you're late, its quite scary what daycares can get away with! And so I think she's unavailable from 5-6 during the weekdays. So yeah, if you want to meet specifically then, you're outta luck lol. Otherwise, I believe she's free any other time of the day or evening, 7 days a week.

I'll keep my eyes open for any work I come across by Khazana and post the link here if I do. Good luck with your meetings! There are so many great vendors in Toronto, I'm sure you'll find the right person for your wedding.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

I've seen Khazana's work -- and no, they're not that great. The pictures on their site look amazing because of the lighting, plus many of the backdrops showcased on the site cost well about $800. My friend's sister got a decent backdrop, the centerpieces were a little messy -- all in all, the decor wasn't memorable.

My friend's sister's theme was red and gold (obviously :P) and her backdrop was just lots of different cloth tied together -- it was at Chandni and Chandni has a great stage already, I'm sure if it was another hall, the stage would have looked too simple :S Anyway, the furniture used for the stage was nice, and the stage looked clean, simple and nice, but there was no sparkle or glamour. And trust me, with my decor I'm going for simple, but I'd still want a little sparkle, maybe some crystal or some shebangg to make it look lively. If I were you, I'd go meet them, and perhaps look at other pictures to get an idea of their work.

The centerpieces at my friend's sister's wedding were tall vases with rose balls on top. It would have looked fine, but they decided to dangle some random red glass beads in the vase that extended from the red rose kissing ball to the bottom of the vase -- it looked messy and weird :S

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

Oh okay…so I guess it looks more plain? was it still something like these in terms of ‘glitter’ or ‘light’? I sorta like this, or at least they look nice in pics…

Was it anything like this in terms of quality at all? Sorry I know I’m bombarding you with questions…I just really don’t wanna go with someone who isn’t REALLY GOOD.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

Never heard of Khazana...but their work on the website looks alright.

side note - I had Sara Baig as my wedding decorator; she did a fabulous job and I never had any problem communicating with her

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

^ isn't Sara Baig quite expensive? But yeah, I have heard she's good. She coordinated a couple of weddings that I've been to -- she did the event coordination and decor. I loved the work and that's why I was very much interested in having her decorate my event as well. But I've called her quite at least three times and left a message everytime. SGC -- thank you, but I will give her a call again -- perhaps she really has been busy with kids and what not. I don't want her to think she's been bad-mouthed on the forums

-Coolzie -- the work online looks very good. But the wedding that I went to, there were no crystals or spakles -- perhaps because the bride didn't specify it? Like I said, maybe if you specify a certain style or theme, they can do it for you. I really do like their price point, and this is why I'm meeting with Mandy. My first choice would have been Naphisha from Perfect Settings. I got in touch with her after calling a couple times. She's REALLY good! I just went to an event of hers, she did the Mehndi, Shaadi and Walima, and the work was stunning! Elegant, sparkly and gorgeous! Unfortunately, I have to cancel my meeting with her, some other stuff came up, so lets' see if I can get a hold of her again to come up with another meeting time :P But, like I said, I'm kinda iffy about booking someone who goes MIA like that :S

-Have you tried Dulhan Mandaps? They're very good with returning e-mails and phone calls, their work is excellent, only thing, a decent backdrop starts @ 1,700 CAD. If that fits within your budget, you should give them a call!

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

^ I experienced Naphisha's flakyness and MIA-ness when helping my friend plan her wedding. Naphisha cancelled meetings with very short notice and was difficult to get a hold of. However, once we were able to sit down and meet with her, she was a pleasure to work with and was willing to come up with a creative solution within the given budget. On the day of the wedding she went above and beyond. Her work was stunning, and she even added some extras for free! And she did this for a very reasonable price.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

You should try Diya Decor. They are expensive but can work with a smaller budget too. Very elegant, professional and beautiful.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

Diya Decor never responded to me! Out of all the vendors, decor is the only one I'm having problems with in terms of contacting and finding options.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

My fiance’s best friend attended the following wedding in Toronto earlier this year. He told us the decorations/design was GORGEOUS in person (and this particular guy attends A LOT of weddings). The couple had a 2nd reception here in the U.S. and my fiance and I attended that, and saw other pics from the Toronto reception that looks great.

Re: Toronto Wedding Decor - Khazana Creations

This is the cell number I have for Diya Decor. I'm not sure if it's still active. 416-671-3492

She's not available on weekends but you should be able to get an appointment in the weeknights.

I don't think she will give the price over the phone so you will have to book an appointment. She has a big warehouse so you will be able to see her decorations and fabrics.
