Toronto - Make up help!

Hey Guys,

Has anyone bought their makeup yet? My skin is super sensitive to make up and I don’t wear it at all either. I was wondering if anyone of you Guppans live in Toronto and know if Bay or Sephora try the stuff on you for free and then you can decided whether you want to purchase it or not. I want to try something and give it a day to see if my skin reacts to. I don’t have pimples or bad skin, its just that my skin gets really red if it comes in contact with any makeup. Please help me out!

Re: Toronto - Make up help!

You can get samples at Sephora and the Bay. I did that for my primer - I liked 2 and so she gave me samples of both... I was able to test each over 2 weeks and then decided which one I wanted to buy.

Sephora, MAC, The Bay, and even Shoppers will let you buy stuff and then return it if you don't like it or your skin reacts to it. (Note: Shoppers only accepts returns on high end make up brands). Make sure you confirm the return/exchange policy before buying it. And yes Sephora is super generous with their samples.. you just have to ask!

Sephora gives out samples quiet generously! Shoppers drug mart run out of their samples really quick
For sensitive skin you could give 'Vichy' or Bare Minerals makeup a try, these products are made for sensitive skin

CoverFx is sold at both Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart. Their foundations have great coverage! If you are using the natural liquid water based foundation you need to use the primer and the setting powder (otherwise it stay a bit too tacky/dewy). I have sensitive skin myself and chose it, because it is paraben, oil and fragrance free. Anyways, I love the cover fx natural water based foundation. They also have a cream cover foundation which gives amazing full coverage. All of their stuff is formulated for sensitive skin and is non-codomogenic and has a zero irritancy score. I've also heard great things about Makeup Forever HD foundation and concealer for wedding makeup. I've used their foundation before and loved it. To be honest, Sephora has a WAY better return policy and give great customer service compared to Shoppers Drug Mart. I also feel they are more knowledgeable and helpful. Plus, they have a ton of variety in terms of makeup brands.
