Toronto jogger accused of assaulting, harassing pregnant woman wearing hijab
A Toronto man is facing charges after a pregnant woman was allegedly assaulted and harassed numerous times in midtown.
It was reported that the suspect was jogging along Yonge Street near Eglinton Avenue West when he veered towards the victim, who was wearing a hijab, struck her and uttered a comment before running off.
On a second occasion the same jogger struck the woman with both hands and continued to run south on Yonge.
Const. Wendy Drummond told the Canadian Press they believe the man may have targetted the woman because of her hijab.
It is alleged that he also criminally harassed her on five other occasions.
The incidents occurred between Feb. 25 and Mar. 25.
Shawn Sable, 43, appeared in court on Monday and was charged with two counts of assault and one count of criminal harassment.
Pepper spray, best spray, wasp spray ... That has a range too, although with the crazy lawsuit environment the perp may counter sue for being attacked with something not intended for use on humans.
With this much coverage and thing being already on her side, she can run him over with a Car and no would ask her!!!
Unless jogger is a millionaire and bring big lawyer.

I worked on store next to cop shop, in bad neighbourhood. Police don't take sides here, they just hate criminals too much.
Why would she keep going for a walk in the same place after getting harrassed ? If I was her I would not. Looks like that attacker guy has some mental problem.
saggirl…perhaps that’s the way to work for this lady, perhaps it’s a nice place to walk, perhaps she shops there…whatever the case, she should be able to do this without the threat of a potential attack.
if she was in a shady part of town and she was returning there on a whim I’d agree with you but I don’t think that this is the case.
Yonge/Eglinton is no remote area. It is one of the major midtown/uptown hubs- busy, diverse, lively. The location of the incident probably surprises me the most about this incident.
Yonge/Eglinton is such a busy area, I don’t understand how he can just hit a pregnant woman and get away. It’s traumatizing being a victim of racist comments let alone being physically abused. Disturbing to say the least.
No-one says anything, and not a victim fault mentality; just trying to keep her safe in a place where they want people to be dis-armed. Yea, Canadian ‘police’ don’t really care, they too scared of being shot at themselves.
Tbh, it made me laugh first cuz I imagined some nerdy biker with a helmet trying that but don’t get it twisted.
And, seeing his picture he looks like the typical dumass suburban kid that becomes a cop and beats on little youth in my area too..
