Toronto - Hadeeqa/Junaid Concert

Is anyone going to this concert? I think its next week.
I also heard (rumor) that Junoon is coming in October? Can anyone confirm that?

Muzna, my brother keeps asking me to ask you to set up a backstage meeting with Hadeeqa, so we can gupshup with her. I think you mentioned that you know her personally! If you and/or BOSS are going it would be nice to hook up again. I’m going with my brother and a few friends. If you want email me and I’ll forward you my phone number.

It would be nice to see other gupshup people as well. But I’m not organizing anything - I’m the worst organizer!

:(
I can't get to this one. Sorry?
I've got an exam to write that weekend (it's a weekend dammit! Can' you believe that!!?) so i can't see the gorgeous Hadeeqa lady. & anyways, the coloured eyes guy isn't coming with J.J. ....
Neways,
If you're going to the concert Achtung, then have fun. I'm sure it'll be a blast.
Oh yeah, & have fun for anyone else who goes to it.

Achtung.....were have you been? Didn't hear from you after the mela.

I'd be happy to arrange something....but I don't have details on the concert as yet. Can you send them to me or post them and I'll follow up.

Its on Sunday at the Living Arts Centre (I think thats what its called) in Mississauga. You can purchase tickets right at the Living Arts Centre, I'm told. They've been advertising it on Dil Dil Pakistan (the TV show).

I don't know the costs or the time of the show, when I find out I'll post them, if anyone else knows, I'd appreciate it if they could post.

Muzna, it would be great if you could arrange something! :)

Hey cool! Living Arts Centre is like five minutes away from my place...I like Hadeeqa for sure... Is she a singer? ;)...I checked on the tickets and they are like 30, 40 and 50 bucks respectively....So who else is interested...Amber, Hayaa NOT!, Umer, DesiMunda....speak up guys!

ciao
BoSS

Wow....that's pretty pricey for just Hadeeqa.....who else is performing?

Gotta admit the Living Arts Centre is a great venue....and now wonder they have to charge so much for tickets.

Somebody please find out who is promoting the show so I can try to contact them and get Achtung's bro backstage......

I'd do it myself but these days I'm rather tied up with stuff.

Please be advised that I cannot attend this event. :( i have to work on sunday, so have fun everybody.

I did not know you knew Hadiqa. Say hello to her from me and convery my thanks for putting up with a pretty tough interview.

Hadiqa, Sammer (of karavan ..fornerly w/ awaz) and Fakhr's interviews will be in the Link.

Key cool Fraud....I didn't know you knew Hadiqa....did you do the interview?

I interviewed her when she came with Junaid, Ali and Fakhr waaaaaaaaaaaay back....since then I've always liked her and Irfan's work.

Yeah, it was a bit crazy because the stupid joint did not have a real backstage area. To be very honest, I am not a Hadiqa fan and always felt that she was over rated due to lack of competition in real female pop singers in Pakistan.

I was wrong..

she delivered a great performance, and although I am still not sure I consider myself a fan of Hadiqa's music, but definitely of her artistic sincerity, her vision and her personality.

I intervied Hadiqa just for the paper, had off the record chat with Junaid, nothing serious just chitchat and since I dont write gossip columns, ahah that will not be published. Hung out with sameer and most of the conversation with him were also just friendly banter due to connection via former friends. Strangest thing is, he remembered me from a meeting at Nadeem Jaffery's place and I did not, but the guy is a gem.

We shot an interview with Fakhar, which went very well...I did the interviewing. Both fakhr and I were exhausted since the interview was sone at 2 a.m. but the doodh pattee pepped us up.

Ask Fakhr about his cricket adventures in Miami :) now thats some story

Muzna, Fraud…You guys have met junaid. faints

Indy Sucks!!!

Indy Rocks :p

I have a slight issue with the topic of this thread, because as much a hadiqa and Junaid are the big names. The best performance was given by Fakhr.

Haha and those poor guys from Karavan, they played backup for everyone, By the end, Alan..the drummer was spent. Muzna u hafta bug adeel about his shiny pants and the furry long coat.

I was also a bit amused that Junaid sang more Vital signs songs than from his solo work. kher.

Fraud,

Fakhr is always the best on stage. His showmanship is amazing. And Junaid always resorts to Vital Signs songs in the face of competition because those are the songs that get the public on their feet...simply because of familiarity. Not too many people are into his solo work, although it's good stuff.

I've never been a fan of Karavan....and now that you mention shiny pants and furry long coat....I dunno....this sounds rather fishy....

Sounds like a fun evening.

whats indy?

Muzna

Karavan is a very very talented bunch. Adeel, their lead guitarist is among the best in Pakistan, Sameer who plays bass is a quiet legend, he has done songs for and been with Junoon and Awaz, and is so down to earth you will not even know it, His topic of interest is not music but careers and stuff, very bright and talented guy. Alan..the drummer is hands down the top drummer in Pakistan, played with every major artist. The guys are down to earth and very very kewl. We were all giving adeel hell about his shiny pants backstage, poor guy finally changed.

Amber

Indy = indianapolis, ghalib hates the city. Outlaw likes it due to the Indy 500 race that takes place there.
