A.A all,

We are planning to come over to Toronto (From London, UK) during the new year period. Is it a good time to come over. How cold does it get in Toronto during winter, December time.

Also has any one visited the Niagra falls over the new year period and if so would you reccomend it?

ANy advice welcome.

Bro i'd say winter is the worst time to visit any part of canada.
we get so much snow that even it makes me think sometimes that wat the heck m doing here. we get way more snow than UK. and there is not much enjoyment here in winter. we only enjoy lives in summer.
all the amusement parks, botonical parks and gardens, ferry rides and everything is gona be closed in the mid october.

Niagara falls is the BEST thing to visit in the world, once u visit it u can not forget it for the rest of ur life, but in winter its gona be almost -40 degree celsius (feels like) and all the ferry rides there and fireworks and all the fun stuff is gona be closed around 20 october.

last year we had almost 5 big snow storms in toronto and the temperature touched -36 degree celsius, and we had huge piles of snow everywhere, if u wana enjoy canada, come in summer.

LOL Very Very Cold. Trust me on that one. Come prepared with warm clothes.

About Niagara Falls, it really depends on who you're going with. If you're coming with family you can go to Niagara Downtown where they have the arcade, haunted houses (screamer's the best one) and other fun things to do. But if you're going with friends on a new year eve then you will have a blast if you go clubbing. It will be super packed though (from what I've heard).

Its cold in December - depends if you get snow or not
The real COLD starts somewhere early / mid january (the minus 20's stuff)
In December its just about single digits below freezing - so you are okay if you are dressed properly.
Niagara is a year around destination, so that should be a good fun filled visit.

I think we will try to come over in the summer, spend a few days , like 3 or 4 and then fly to Calgary and explore Alberta...
