toronto banquet hall help!

can someone please put together a list of the decent **non-paindu **halls in toronto and mississauga?
i’m way lost here! i’ve got downtown toronto covered but i need to expand my search area… help!

so far, all i have is versailles and chandni and neither of them have half-way decent websites so i have no idea what to expect. is candles any good for a valima?

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

there are some in vaughan and woodbridge area which are really decent

Versailles at Mississauga is pretty good. If you want something higher end then La Suhag at Brampton is even better.

That is offcourse if you dont plan on arriving by helicopter. :)

Good luck.

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

Theres one right downtown off of Spadina im not sure what its called but it was REALLY nice. i think it might be a little expensive

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

awww still no luck? Maybe this will help?

Sindhoor

this seems like a nice banquet hall

The Garden Banquet and Convention Centre

hey SGC, Le Jardin in woodbridge has always been my favorite hall in the GTA. It's like a castle! You should check it out...

My sister had her walima at Missisauga Convention Centre and it was pretty nice...

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

I never thought that there can be paindu halls in Toronto and Mississauga. It sounds so unreal.

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

^ Oh trust me, there are lots.

There is Woodbine Convention Centre...has a nice entrance, pretty chandaliers, decent food.

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

Try this website it provides a list of venues and their websites, they may not be desi but you can always have it catered. My friend found her venue from this website.

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

Le Jardin is really nice. Versailles is nice too, but I liked Le Jardin better.

i think candles is pretty nice... they include decoration in the cost and shaheen their in house decorator does a pretty good job. haven't had the food though but i hear its pretty good.

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

All this talk of Canada is making me miss it so much! :(

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

Paradise Banquet Hall is really pretty..

About Us

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

Candles has a lousy entrance. The only thing good about it is the food.

Le Jardin is beautiful as well as Mississauga Convention Center.

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

I got a quote from Le Jardin....$11,000 base rate for renting the venue + In-house caterer (The host) $27+ per head for BASIC package + $5.50/head for drinks...kinda crazy! This was for a Friday night.

So $11,000 + $32.50 (27+5.5) 400 guests = 24,000
This is the **BASIC
* package.
Other cosst to consider - lighting, stage, centerpeices, linens...

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

^ yeah, for a sunday, he told me $6000 was the rental rate. its because they have to recoup the money they’d make from a wedding where there was an alcohol bar and not just a soft bar (pop and juice).

naqsa, the venetian (Welcome to The Venetian) is gorgeous and it allows outside catering by either the host or cuisine of india on friday and sunday. they also provide the softbar and a massive dessert table. a good friend of mine got married there and everything was really pretty. you should check 'em out! they don’t have a venue rental fee either. the contact there is Rose.

i’m going to see the following:
-renaissance by the creek
-versailles
-chandni
-pearson convention center

i’d love the terrace, west river, or embassy grand but all of them have a $30 per person venue charge for a sunday which is working out to $6000 and on top of that you have the food too.

anyone have any experience with chandni?

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

^ it's another nice hall. Been to a few weddings there and everything was pretty good.

Re: toronto banquet hall help!

^ pearson convention centre is really pretty! Also, paradise banquet hall that Jal-Pari mentioned is really nice and the food there is good too.

I don't like Le Jardin.....I don't like their management and I find the halls too OTT. And they're ridiculously overpriced! I mean you can find an amazing hotel venue in downtown Toronto that will cost less than Le Jardin. Le Jardin seriously is in the middle of nowhere.

Check out Mississauga convention centre too. It's like a smaller version of Pearson. Candles is a nice hall with good food but the entrance is really bad! It's all the way located at the back of a shady strip mall!

Same here. :frowning:

Pretty much all the halls (xcept mine  ) i’ve seen have been nice.
