I am looking for a very nice wedding hall in Toronto for no more than 150 ppl at no more than $50 pp or $6000 minimum just for the hall/food itself.
Also, would it be appropriate to have a DJ for 150 ppl?

You should check out Redrose convention centre. I got married there in hall C that can accomodate 150 people and was charged 40-ish dollars pp. My sister booked the same hall last year for her summer wedding and paid $45-48 pp. It’s a nice and decent venue. Nothing too extravagant or OTT and that was something we were looking for. Food is good as well.
One word of advice, though! Try to talk to Uncle Narender who is far more accomodating, truthful and straightforward than the italian lady. Think her name is Rosa?

Hey! I have my reception booked at Grand Empire Banquet Hall in Brampton - ours is on a Friday so it ended up being about $45 a person. I’ve attended weddings there as well, awesome food and nice place. You could also look into Apollo Convention Centre, Versailles or Sagan

You could check out Scarborough Conevntion too, its a gorgeous hall $45 per person.
And Grand Victorian is $45 as well.
And the ones mentioned above are good too.
And yes Dj for 150 people is okay to get , and i would recommend it since its one less thing to worry about and playing your own playlist is not the same as having a professional there. I can recommend you a reasonable DJ if you want.
