why not use them… If you tune yur OS properly it gives very good efficiency.

I have a PIII 866 w/256MB @ 1024x768 res on a 19" montior. And I still run less things then you, unless I need to be running a lot of stuff, I don’t overburden my computer. If you have so much stuff running, your OS will not be effecient most of the time, will it?

Yes, you are right…overburdening computers is not a crime…unless in the future they decide to take over and seek revenge.

Though I’ve done my fair share of abusing computers, from over-clocking them until they melt, to running 2~3 CPU intensive benchmarks simultaneously till my computer crashed and refused to run them again!

I currently use Win98SE, what about you? I plan on upgrading to WinXP when it comes out. Though to keep my OS tip-top shape I use Norton utilities to defrag, optimize registry etc once a month. My HD gets fragmented very quickly because I work with moving, editing large files a lot.
