Folks often use this (^) to refer to the previous post. But most of the time, someone else sneaks in a post between the post they were referring to, and theirs. And thats where the confusion starts!.
Sometimes, the post being referred to is just one post above, so its easy to figure it out. But then there are times when a thread is meant for flooding, and you can get 3 or 4 posts in between. Thats where the real confusion starts.
Better option would be to refer to the post number, instead of just ^ing.
