A thousand U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq since the war started.

When was this 'milestone' reached?
Yeah, every one has exact numbers for US dead, no one talks about the tens of thousands of Iraqis dead in this war. I am not talking about the one who died fighting US forces, but innocent civilians who died in the first few days of war. Why no one knows the exact numbers? Because the numbers are too high.
Underthedome…it looks like you have been living undertherock. Are you joking when you were saying 1000’s Iraqis have been killed, the number is more than 10,000’s. You are missing one zero here. In July Iraqi death toll was 37,000
It’s a lot more now. Yes, feel sorry for the US forces but don’t forget your Muslims brothers and sisters and those of you on this board who support Bush and his thugs and want him to win the next election, SHAME ON YOU.

Ah cry me a river, 1000 invaders killed, compared to how many civilians ?

ur right, 1000 US soldiers dead, whoopdee do
I am sad about this milestone, but compared to the innocent Iraqis I don't really care for this 1000 compared to the more than 1000 Iraqis killed, including innocent women and children? How many more children need to die?

On the day Operation Iraqi Freedom suffered the 1,000th death of a United States soldier, some quick numbers are in order:
1,095 days since the attacks of September 11;
538 days since the invasion and occupation of Iraq;
1,001 American soldiers dead in Iraq;
1,132 total Coalition soldiers dead in Iraq;
More than 20,000 'medical evacuations' of American soldiers from Iraq;
More than 10,000 civilians dead in Iraq;
0 weapons of mass destruction;
0 democratic elections in Iraq;
0 connections between Iraq and the attacks of September 11;
0 captures of Osama bin Laden, in Iraq or anywhere else;
$1.7 trillion to be spent on Iraq in the next decade, according to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences report by the Committee on International Security Studies (CISS).
