1000

A thousand U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq since the war started.

Prayers to all those who have died, U.S. and Iraqi alike.

In Islam I believe it’s not permitted to speak ill of the dead and beyond that’s it cruel and childish, no need to dance on the 1000 who have died.

No shock and awe? :teary1:

how many iraqis dead ?

1000's of Iraq's have been killed by U.S. forces.

Hundreds of 1000's were killed by inaction of the world (yes including the U.S.) in allowing Saddam to do as he pleased for decades.

But what about Shock and Awe? I mean it was bloody awesome (now that was redundant).

When was this 'milestone' reached?

Yeah, every one has exact numbers for US dead, no one talks about the tens of thousands of Iraqis dead in this war. I am not talking about the one who died fighting US forces, but innocent civilians who died in the first few days of war. Why no one knows the exact numbers? Because the numbers are too high.

Underthedome…it looks like you have been living undertherock. Are you joking when you were saying 1000’s Iraqis have been killed, the number is more than 10,000’s. You are missing one zero here. In July Iraqi death toll was 37,000

It’s a lot more now. Yes, feel sorry for the US forces but don’t forget your Muslims brothers and sisters and those of you on this board who support Bush and his thugs and want him to win the next election, SHAME ON YOU.

I wonder which one of them U.S. soldiers was THE ACTUAL 1000th one to die...

By the way, does anybody have any ideas on how many of them have died in Afghanistan? I bet it's pretty close to the Iraqi figures...

Tillman got smoked a while back, I wonder how many have died since him...

Don't forget the 15000+ blinded, died in hospital abroad (and so not classified killed in action) and limbless!

Ah cry me a river, 1000 invaders killed, compared to how many civilians ?

Did i see you post a similar thread when the 1000 innocent civilians killed by US Invaders 'milestone' was reached ?

**‘TRAGIC MILESTONE’ FOR US **](http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30200-13217443,00.html)

The American military has suffered its 1,000th death in Iraq.

The Pentagon said 998 US troops had been killed in Iraq along with three civilian employees of the Defence Department.

About 6,916 US troops have been wounded in the 18-month war, according to the latest Pentagon figures.

The majority of those killed have died since the American president declared an end to major combat in May last year.

George Bush’s Democratic rival John Kerry - a decorated Vietnam War veteran - called it “a tragic milestone”.

The majority of Americans have been killed in attacks by insurgents.

Deaths among Marines have surged in recent weeks. In June, 42 US troops were killed, a month later it was 54 while in August it had increased to 66.

The US claims it has killed 2,500 insurgents in the last month.

ur right, 1000 US soldiers dead, whoopdee do

I am sad about this milestone, but compared to the innocent Iraqis I don't really care for this 1000 compared to the more than 1000 Iraqis killed, including innocent women and children? How many more children need to die?

On the day Operation Iraqi Freedom suffered the 1,000th death of a United States soldier, some quick numbers are in order:

1,095 days since the attacks of September 11;

538 days since the invasion and occupation of Iraq;

1,001 American soldiers dead in Iraq;

1,132 total Coalition soldiers dead in Iraq;

More than 20,000 'medical evacuations' of American soldiers from Iraq;

More than 10,000 civilians dead in Iraq;

0 weapons of mass destruction;

0 democratic elections in Iraq;

0 connections between Iraq and the attacks of September 11;

0 captures of Osama bin Laden, in Iraq or anywhere else;

$1.7 trillion to be spent on Iraq in the next decade, according to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences report by the Committee on International Security Studies (CISS).
