Re: At the top of political agenda! Economy? Jobs? Etc. or simply bringing dow Mush?
What do you suggest Musharraf should have done?
When he barred the bad eggs and used the raw material available he was constantly cursed for it.
When he let the bad eggs back in and let the people chose, the people chose the older bad eggs, again.
Why is Musharraf blamed for the nation's rationality or irrationality?
Or would you agree that 1999-2002 was the best when Mush was CE and sole power as dictator without any makeshift democratic setup!?
Even when he was the self-styled King (President, PM and COAS all rolled into one) he could do nothing about the corrupt politicians (apart from taking token measures such as deporting NS) or the feudal landlords (apart from killing Bugti). There was no structured implementation of his initial 7-point agenda
Not condoning their corruption or incompetence but atleast past PMs had an excuse that they not only had to ensure good governance but also had to deal with the problem of military looking over their shoulders. Military dictators have no such worries as there is noone really to Q them, so what hope do we have then if even they can't rid us of corruption and feudalism....to phir itni bari bari baatein nahin karni chahinye na
Hope this does n't happen again but next time a general usurps power and gives us the same old bull about ridding us of corruption and feudalism, we should put him in his rightful place straightaway
Re: POVERTY in Pakistan - Do PPP, PML(N), ANP have an answer for it?
Ceaser,
I though the 'great' president Mush is still in power. In his 9 years of rule, there has been un-precedence economic growth, poverty has declined manifold since he took over, and everywhere rivers of milk and honey are flowing. According one who praised him all the time since registering in this forum, said that Pakistan has produced no better leader than Mush and he is even better than Quaid-e-Azam. So what poverty are you talking about?:D
Question is, what the new government willing to do about it. In past, Musharraf government was blamed for taking action against these elements. Nawaz Shareef said that these things are happening because of dictatorship (I dont understand the link). It suggest these particular people will stop blowing things (dont know how), once elected people are back in power. Imran has the similar arguments that gov should not kill their own people. Both NS and IK should now inform these people that elections are held now and anti-Mush parties have won. so they should stop their madness.
PPP and PML (N) one point agenda of ‘Musharaf Out’ is not going to solve the real problems. PPP and PML (N) do not have a clue as to what to do when it comes to terrorists.

It will be better than "let me save my kursi by imposing emergency while Swat is burning". They will surely not use terrorists to strengthen their hold on kursi nor will they let the country burn while arresting innocent people.

Price of Opium/Heroin will go up 10%..................:biggthumb
Its easy to criticize, than to give alternate suggestions. How pak governemnt should have handled post 9-11 pressure from US & the world? Nawaz, Imran or Zardari or their supporters never tell how they would have handled it. Only alternative comes from mullah, which basically is "aa bayl mujhay maar" policy.

As if Musharraf was able to curb terrorism... can you show a graph of number of suicide bombings for each year (last 8 years)? Thanks.

Ehtasab bhaijan. Can you show a graph for the following that happened under PPP and PML (N) governments. i.e between 1993 and 1996 thousands of people were killed in extra judicial killings in Karachi during PPP govt. Also, thousands of people were being killed in secterian violance in 1990's, which neither successive PPP and PML (N) govt could control.
The above examples show that how the PPP and PML (N) utterly failed in tackling terrorism and infact, in the case of PPP, committed wide range of human rights abuses.
We are now living a world where global terrorism is at a rampage, and many of these terrorists have made Pakistan their home. These are the type of terrorists that PPP and PML (N) have said they will get rid of when they come in power. I just want to know and see how they do it, especially as Pakistani army and the coalition forces have found it difficult.

Bhai sahib, PPP did the "extra-judicial" killings just like Mushy did bombing of many places for American war, I am sure you are not asking for civilian deaths there. Just like Mushy's bombing were for "fighting terrorism" PPP did that against MQM's terrorisation of Karachi. Lets see which one you can condemn and which you can't/don't.
Oh BTW, Karachi's terrorisation went steep down after those extra-judicial killings, did suicide bombings go down after those drone-bombings/Lal-Masjid?

Please keep this BS feed for western media which Mushy has to utter out every other day or may be in his weekly/nightly-2:00AM reports.
Re: Top Agenda: Ousting Mush OR Terror, Poverty- Do PPP, PMLN, ANP have answers? (mer
The first major suicide bombing after th 18 Feb elections came exactly 1 week later right in the corridor of power RWP-ISL. A 3 star General fell prey.
Should there be any serious statements, announcements, from the elected power bearers?
What are those thinking who used to say terrorism would vanish once there are free fair elections and peoples beloved representatives brought to power? Do they have any plans?
