True that

wat about wasim akram’s knock of 257* against zimbabwe in shekhupura about 4 and half years ago. :konfused:

That was a test match!

sorry i miss read the question asked, i thought it was both test and one day internationals.

:smack:

:hoonh: Inzamam Ul Haq no where in site. It just shows how over hyped he is and how we has not lived up to the potential. Also explains why he was never, and is not rated as one of the best batsman.

I agree, I don't see him anywhere, though his 46 against New Zealand in Wc semifinal was a very match winning knock, I'm surprised he's not on the list.

Likewise M Azharuddin's 108* should have been higher.it was score in 60 ball when India was chasing a target of moe than 9 run/over.

Will Inzaman play an inning/s in the upcomming Indian visit that will be in the Wisden top 100 ?

but there is a shahid afridi in the list…

so is afridi better than inzamam??? :konfused:

and talking of wisden Top 100, azhar mahmood was rated in top 10 last time, so is he the best test batsman we ever had???

look closely.. Ijaaz ahmad too :jhanda:

The Game Responds:

*These ratings are crap, to be honest. Important innings aren't always three-figure scores, and Steve Waugh's innings of 120* in the 1999 World Cup shouldn't be at number 20. People, That Is All.*

The key word is inning

so u mean to say that inzamam has never played an inning that cud match afridi's 37 ball hundred????

or that none of youhanna's innings in his 450 runs series was worth a place in top 100????

or that lara's 153 mage it to # 11 and basit ali's 127*(off 79 balls) in the very same match was not anywher in the top 100????
coming in at #5 with pakistan 87/3 in a FINAL and getting a 100 off 67 deliveries against ambrose-walsh headed bowling attack meant nothing????

Do tell me if you come to know of one by Inzamam. Afridi's inning came when Pakistan needed to set a target of over 320 and dismiss Sri Lanka for less than 285..

Againts Zim.... poor bowling attack...a 100 againt Zim is always not rated high

hmmm so Basit could not get in .... what does that have to do with Inzamam?
Or are you trying to say that the Wisden thing is messed ... so who cares ?

Inzamam 116* against ZIM at Harare in 1995, chasing 209 when 3 of pakistan's top order had gone for a duck....

Inzamam 116* against SL at Kimberley in 1998, chasing a tough target of ~300, and that too better than a run-a-ball....

Inzamama's 81 against IND at Toronto in 1998, setting India an out-of-reach 257, coming in at 40 and making sure Pak crossed well over 200....

Inzamam's 91 against IND at Bangaalore in 1999, coming in at 28 runs and taking Pak to around 250 before being run out courtesy of Azhar Mahmood who was sleeping when Inzi made the run call....

Inzamam's 107 against IND at Sharjah in 1999, coming in again at a score of around 50 and staying at the crease till Pak had crossed 270 in the last over, and thus making sure they end with a big score....

Inzamam's 81 against AUS at Headingley in 1999 WC, coming in at #5 with a score of less than 50, and joining razaq to lift pakistan to 275, and setting a challenging target, and againt wasim causes a run out by taking off when inzamam lay at his crease after taking fleming's delivery on his toe....

Inzamam's 121* against IND at Sharjah in 2000, coming in at a score of 55 in the 13th over, and then not only glueing himself to the crease but also making the score tick on with 5 SIXES and a better than run-a-ball 100.... the innings was such a masterly display that even waqar's 5-for cud not snatch away the MoM award....

Inzamam's 83* against SL at Galle in 2000, scoring more than half of the runs in a lost effort when no one accompanied him at the crease (waqar's 22 was the second highest score) and setting up a low target for SL to take the match with more than 7 overs to spare....

Inzamam's 85* against NZ at Sharjah in 2000, in a low-scoring match (~130) where the 3 top order batsmen had been skittled for <10 runs each....

Inzamam's 118* against SL at Sharjah in 2001, guiding a new-comer to a well-made 100 and at the same time getting his own century, coming in again when the top-order had set him no ground to fire from....
