US is getting increasingly difficult to live in and earn an honest income and not get financially torn apart when someone in the family gets sick (ex. cancer, heart disease, diabetes, any surgically managed disease, anything requiring frequent hospitalizations or constant doctor visits).
Seriously. I am not working right now, so I'm on a low-income student geared insurance plan, and its ridiculous. I had 2 blood tests done to evaluate for an endocrine disorder, and I'm having to pay 300 dollars because some genius in the billing dept coded the lab tests wrong. And now all companies are sending me bills. When I try to fix this situation, billing dept is like "yeah...we'll get to fixing it..." I'm pretty sure, somehow I'm going to have to pay. They'll figure out some way to make me pay.
My father has heart disease and diabetes - pretty common - and he pays, despite insurance, like 600 per month on medications. Mom has osteoperosis and is aggravated about spending I forget how much each month for 4 pills.
What's left after they're done paying for meds, and paying for the household needs and children's education needs?
Like almost nothing. They work like dogs, and the whole system is convoluted and difficult - overly beuracratic, and at the end of the day, just inefficient.
And overall, I think Americans are annoyed with how their tax money is being spent these days.
You just have more rights and more ammenities in other european countries. At least you don't have to fight like a bug to get your healthcare.
what about medical insurance ?
Funny that USA rarely ranks well in this study. What do they compare?
One thing they look at is life expectancy and the US ranks 35th in that area. The problem is the US has had increasing economic inequality over the past 30-35 years (economic inequality in America is now worse than that in the UK and worse than that of several Latin American countries) and America's overall numbers are dragged down by having more poor people than a country like Sweden.
yeh they are all most favourite countries and most educated civilizations
Re: Top 10 Countries to live in

the only reason that USA is lower on the list is quite frankly due to the large Black and Hispanic population...they just drag USA down....
If you just count the white and asian life expectancy...then USA is right up there in the top 10
Re: Top 10 Countries to live in
